Linus didn't shit on Linux as a whole, come on. Last time he tried Pop was over a year ago, he figured something might've changed in the meantime. And he did research what could be causing the issues (and found a fix for L4D2), and did also mention that overall the system was intuitive, installing it was fairly simple and he enjoyed not having his data being sold. He also said that all his devices were plug-and-play, no driver downloading shenanigans required. But of course he is going to highlight the issues he runs into, it's kind of the point of the video to show that not all experiences with Linux are seamless, and you can get radically different results depending on your chosen distro.

Having had Rutte as PM for a long time, this guy is a diplomat. He will say whatever he thinks needs to be said to whoever is listening to, without truly believing a single word of it. It makes him exceptionally good at maintaining relations, and that's what he's doing here: positioning NATO as an essential US ally, that the US benefits from. It's aimed directly at Trump and his sycophants.

And I mean it's his job to keep NATO together so sucking up to Trump is in his job description. But one thing is certain: don't believe Mark Rutte's words, since he doesn't really believe them himself.

The Nedelin disaster claimed more lives than NASA did over its entire existence.

Centrists lost to Trump, the objectively worst candidate for president.

Sanders received a loud applause from a Fox News town hall. I'm not so sure he'd have lost.

When voters have chosen the option furthest to the right it is stupid to think that running a candidate further left would do anything but lose.

Trying to do right-wing policy "better" than the right-wing candidate has consistently lost elections to far-right candidates. All it does is validate the far-right candidate's positions, and they'll always be considered "stronger" on those positions

People primarily vote for change, and that's exactly what the centrists haven't been able to offer. It's why Biden lost, it's why Harris lost, it's why Clinton lost.

Well, looking at a microchip under a microscope might reveal a lot about how Intel/AMD/Nvidia design their chips. But it's not going to tell you how those chips were then constructed.

That's extremely specialised knowledge requiring very advanced technology and tooling that's globally only really available at TSMC. It's also so specialised that no one person holds all the knowledge in their head, it requires hundreds or even thousands of people.

But even if you figure that out, you still need to actually know how to build the tools that can manufacture wafers. And that knowledge is almost exclusively known to ASML, a company whose products can cost nearly half a billion dollars each.

China does invest in their own fabs, but even they purchase the (older-gen) tools from ASML. Compared to TSMC, they're 2 generations behind. Compared to ASML, they're 5 generations behind.

That's not to say they aren't innovating by the way. Huawei/SMIC developed chips that are only approx. 18 months behind using innovative techniques that gets more out of the older equipment they're forced to use. It's impressive stuff. But again, this does require the state to throw its full weight behind the initiative to create more domestic manufacturing, which a single billionaire is unlikely to manage on their own.

Most non-voters don't hold significantly different beliefs than the voting population. In non-competitive states, it means motivating them to vote is unlikely to tip the scales. Why bother tipping the results from 60% to 55% by spending millions on it? Better to allocate those funds to a 53% to 48% potential flip.

In battleground states they do try to reach these people.

Look at the dates. Most of those are from 1940. The most intense of the attacks happened in a span of 6-9 months.

The war in Ukraine has been going on for 3 years now. Russia drops significantly larger bombs on Ukraine. Even important historical buildings are being levelled.

(Not to minimize what the British had to endure btw, war does a horrible number on you regardless)

It seems unlikely that a Muslim Israeli is in favour of what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza.

If you want to insist that those in favour of what the Israeli government is doing must necessarily be Jewish, feel free to, but that seems fairly antisemitic in and of itself.

Ofc these people in the video are morons. As a healthcare worker you have a duty to medically assist anyone imo.

"The Former Guy", refers to Trump.

It's an inefficient form of food, requiring more nutrients than we get out of it. But we like eating meat (it's delicious after all), so in theory it is purely for our enjoyment.

Though we also use it to feed our cats I suppose.

True, but in this case he hadn't even put it out at all yet.
