Linus didn't shit on Linux as a whole, come on. Last time he tried Pop was over a year ago, he figured something might've changed in the meantime. And he did research what could be causing the issues (and found a fix for L4D2), and did also mention that overall the system was intuitive, installing it was fairly simple and he enjoyed not having his data being sold. He also said that all his devices were plug-and-play, no driver downloading shenanigans required. But of course he is going to highlight the issues he runs into, it's kind of the point of the video to show that not all experiences with Linux are seamless, and you can get radically different results depending on your chosen distro.

Having had Rutte as PM for a long time, this guy is a diplomat. He will say whatever he thinks needs to be said to whoever is listening to, without truly believing a single word of it. It makes him exceptionally good at maintaining relations, and that's what he's doing here: positioning NATO as an essential US ally, that the US benefits from. It's aimed directly at Trump and his sycophants.

And I mean it's his job to keep NATO together so sucking up to Trump is in his job description. But one thing is certain: don't believe Mark Rutte's words, since he doesn't really believe them himself.

Doubtful. Librewolf still uses Firefox as base.

Centrists lost to Trump, the objectively worst candidate for president.

Sanders received a loud applause from a Fox News town hall. I'm not so sure he'd have lost.

When voters have chosen the option furthest to the right it is stupid to think that running a candidate further left would do anything but lose.

Trying to do right-wing policy "better" than the right-wing candidate has consistently lost elections to far-right candidates. All it does is validate the far-right candidate's positions, and they'll always be considered "stronger" on those positions

People primarily vote for change, and that's exactly what the centrists haven't been able to offer. It's why Biden lost, it's why Harris lost, it's why Clinton lost.

I tend to write a comment of what I want to do, and have Copilot suggest the next 1-8 lines for me. I then check the code if it's correct and fix it if necessary.

For small tasks it's usually good enough, and I've already written a comment explaining what the code does. It can also be convenient to use it to explore an unknown library or functionality quickly.

Many military experts have commented that Israel has done a very effective job at minimizing civilian casualties. If if were truly indiscriminate, the death toll would be much, much higher.

The IDF has killed more women and children in the past year than any other conflict in the past two decades: https://www.oxfam.org/en/press-releases/more-women-and-children-killed-gaza-israeli-military-any-other-recent-conflict

According to research in The Lancet, the number of total deaths is at ~186000. That's everyone including those who died of preventable causes, e.g. hunger or prevetable disease, e.g. direct and indirect deaths.

According to professor Michael Spagat, the estimated percentage of civilians is around 80% (https://aoav.org.uk/2024/netanyahu-got-it-wrong-before-the-us-congress-idfs-clean-performance-in-gaza-is-a-lie/). Even conservative estimates put it at at least 61%, which is the worst for any modern conflict since WW2.

Based on calculations of the demographic of the dead and the living (e.g. how much does the general population differ from the dead? Are there more dead men of fighting age than in the genral population, etc...), it appears that whilst Israel may target Hamas fighters, it takes next to no effort to avoid civilian casualties in the process. For example, the IDF often targets homes of suspected Hamas fighters, taking out entire families.

So I don't know which "military experts" think Israel is doing a good job on this, because the ones I'm seeing seem to agree on the opposite.

Not even Israeli media agrees with you: https://www.thejc.com/news/world/greta-thunberg-gave-stage-to-activist-who-supported-october-7-terror-efdtlitc

There is no suggestion that Thunberg has expressed the views espoused by Rachdan.

Also, conflating criticism of Israel and antisemitism is by itself antisemitic, as you're placing the blame for the actions of the Israeli government on Jewish people in general. See also: https://jerusalemdeclaration.org/

  1. Holding Jews collectively responsible for Israel’s conduct or treating Jews, simply because they are Jewish, as agents of Israel.

Probably wise to help shoot as much as possible down. If they manage to get all of it and the attack causes no deaths, then it doesn't give Netanyahu much political manoeuverability to opt for retaliatory strikes. That could deescalate things a bit, hopefully.

Still, no clue how this will play out.

They do not have equal rights, that is just objectively false. Here's an example: https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israels-knesset-passes-law-barring-palestinian-spouses-2022-03-10/

The Knesset often passes laws that disproportionately affect Arab Israelis in a negative way.
