Hardly, I'm directly addressing your statement that case insensitive is intuitive to users, grandmas or otherwise - I give examples where it's not initiative or obvious which filenames match. I didn't mention ease of implementation at all.

The principle of least surprise is an important UX consideration, and your idea of effectively introducing collation and localising which files conflict is just trading one problem for another set of problems and suprises (e.g. copying directories between drives with different settings).

I just watched Hit Man, which claims there aren't any such thing as hit men in real life - clearly that's not the case!

I happily use Helix for Rust, etc projects, and as a general editor. I switch back to VSCode for TypeScript/Svelte projects because the plugins make it more productive for me. I do miss the editing experience and need to check if there's a VSCode plugin that lets me not confuse my muscle memory.

Helix was the thing that finally made me remap my caps lock key to esc.

In Foobar2000, Shpeck allows you to run those old Winamp vis plugins - I have Milkdrop 2.2 with all those old classics. They still look great on modern tech!

For me, the level of fan service and nostalgia was almost uncomfortable - we've got Lower Decks for that kind of stuff!
