For anyone else wondering, they're not endangered, at least:

Figures for both species of pilot whales are unknown, and even though they are depleted in some areas, pilot whales are not considered to be endangered. There are likely to be almost a million long-finned pilot whales and at least 200,000 short-finned pilot whales worldwide.

I knew that would be Squidge just from the title!

Because this is the internet, I can't tell if the whoosh goes to your downvoters or you. I think you were joking, but that second sentence makes me wonder...

Hmm, interesting logic; my first reaction is that even if I program a robot to hit a golf ball I still wouldn't be any good on the links, but perhaps there's enough medical theory that she'd have to encode that she would be the top doc. I would have expected the original program to already have the knowledge and skills useful in OP's scenario, however.

I think all the engineers would have transferable skills, seeing as surgery is basically engineering/plumbing on living things.

How did you find Leptos to work with? I never got further than the tutorial so I have yet to form a real opinion on it.

1820, but I don't see where you can export the breakdown.

For me it's the Intellivision with its controllers that were attached with phone cords and those plastic inserts that would customise the controller for each game.

I think we only had one game, Triple Action (although only the tanks and biplanes were worth playing).

My parents' house still has more vintage tech than most computer museums.

it would’ve been nice if Gentoo’s docs were better than/highly competitive against Arch’s docs.

I think it's fair to say that the Arch wiki is larger and covers more areas, but if there's a Gentoo page on the same topic, the Gentoo one will be as good/better.

Arch is more popular, and so has more contributors (e.g. recent edits for Gentoo vs Arch).

I think everyone is pretty sure that it was a try, but the on-field decision was a no, and I'm happy to see that decision being the one that's official, even if it is probably wrong. I wouldn't be saying that if I were a Scotland fan though.

We saw it move to the ground, but it could have been dropped. We don't know for sure.

Yeah, that's what I mean by transcriptions; if you're mostly posting screenshots of social media posts then it'd probably work quite well, but if it's photos you're definitely going to need something more complicated.

I feel that auto-generated descriptions are going to generally be terrible, even with the new GPT AIs. There's too much context needed to do a good job to be able to just feed an image into some code and get something useful.

On the other hand, transcriptions should be able to be done more accurately, particularly with a bit of extra logic to recognise forms like Twitter posts.

Some database of alt-texts might be possible by scraping for alt-texts and transcriptions from the fediverse, reddit, etc, but a quick search didn't come up with anything.

Could you share a screenshot of your final result?
