I think it's just discoverability of content, and probably some UX. Mastodon isn't really a great show of what ActivityPub can do. They intentionally don't have an "algorithm" or any kind of content discoverability. Also the federation is limited to following users, on Lemmy you can follow topics and that causes all their posts and comments to federate.

Just today I heard Bluesky is making a Reddit alternative. I'm a bit worried they overtake Lemmy.

I scrolled to the bottom, saw there was 1 instance still running 0.16.6 lol, I clicked on it and saw it's actually still active, there are recent posts there. Amazing.

a pretty simple plugin idea would be a regex to validate post titles, deny the post if the title is invalid

I guess to start with it could be a config file with a dictionary of community name: regex

and later it could be made to use the database with an api to set the regexes, could even allow community moderators to set their own regexes (might need a maximum regex length, maximum number of parenthesis/groups in the regex pattern, and disable lookbehind/lookahead, for performance reasons)

If you want an overly objective answer, speedrunners use different characters for different levels because they're faster in different ways, and I don't think Peach is used often. As a casual player IDK lol I always just played as Peach

Users can block communities yeah but instance admins cannot. I think instance admins should be able to control what c/All shows to an extent. Figuring out which communities to block takes time and frustrates new users. I've seen multiple posts from users complaining about certain communities or posts showing up on c/All and not knowing or caring that they can block communities. And then you gotta think about anonymous browsing, I'm sure many users browse without an account or without logging in, for both Lemmy and Reddit and other sites too, users hate creating accounts no matter how easy you make it.
