my Quest 3 can run Android apps, I sideloaded F-Droid, Jerboa, and ScummVM into it lol

it honestly works better than expected, no complaints except you can't adjust the aspect ratio of the apps, they just stay in like a portrait mode (except ScummVM which correctly forces itself to always be landscape)

Have you seen The 7th Guest VR yet? They used a new technology for volumetric video to do their FMVs, which means you can actually walk around the actors and see them from the side or even go behind them. It's actually necessary in VR because you don't want to lock the player's head in place, and you also need to be able to turn your head, even just slight movements of your head need to be respected.

This means the player can walk around in FMVs, similar to the cutscenes in Half-Life 2. It also means you can mess with camera angles in post, which sounds pretty cool. I think we'll be seeing some more volumetric videos in games, especially VR games, in the next few years.

I haven't looked into how that engine works, but I think it should be possible to move characters around, and change the connections between maps (usually called Entrance Randomization)

but again the games usually keep the scope restricted, not many things are available at any given time, which means not a lot of possibilities for moving things around

but some day I might give it a shot
