Yeah but that's just join-lemmy, someone could make their own website that doesn't have this issue, even without overloading the user with info. It should only show instances that are middle of the road general instances.

you should be able to paste the [!communityname@instancename.com](/c/communityname@instancename.com) into the search, it may take a few seconds even after it says "no results found", because remote searches can take a while
you can also copy-paste the full URL to the community into the search, like https://programming.dev/c/programmer_humor

These things don't affect the average user (lurker) much at all. Ideally you just start with whatever instance and only move if you don't like it. A new user can't really know if an instance is bad or not before trying it.
(As long as the recommendation page doesn't give them an extremist instance)

That's communities. Did you have issues with the communities link at the top of the page? You can switch it to the "All" view.
Also what the other comments said is good too, like for finding a very niche community I'll use https://lemmyverse.net/communities

if you have trouble with our installer on Steam Deck let us know, it's still new but it should properly setup everything on Linux just fine, we do have a couple Linux players in our Discord

achievements are great for one time, but that doesn't really suit a Randomizer where you're meant to play over and over, so I think our integrated bingo board is a more appropriate substitute for achievements
I mean I'm biased, but I definitely think it's up there. IMO GMDX and Revision change a lot compared to the original game. The real competitor to our Zero Rando mode is probably the Transcended mod which keeps things very vanilla. We have some balance tweaks that probably make things more balanced (to maximize the number of viable approaches across different seeds), while Transcended keeps everything more vanilla. A good benefit to Zero Rando mode is that once you're done playing the game normally you can easily play it again with some or all randomization features enabled.

the comments from the other communities actually stand out more than the comments of the current community, due to the headers, without the header the comments just kinda blend in
