Because power interruptions introduce choas into systems which can cause curruption. Most times nothing will happen and we carry on as usual, but occasionally things will be effected in a way that prevents booting or borks some other item. Nature of the beast.

Ya'll if you don't want to serve just tell the court you know what jury nullification is and ask to be dismissed. No need for biological warfare.

Fortunately removing/replacing fstab and running fsck fixed it. The pain in the ass part was needing to mount a temporary repair partition/shell so I could diagnose/run commands.

I have a UPS LMAO. Normally it prevents these types of issues but my computer was in standby when the power loss happened and did not like it.

As someone who spent the better part of my afternoon dealing with this nonsense thanks to an unexpected power outage:

I'm not crying, you're crying.

In all my years this might be the most dumb block list I have ever seen. A sample:

Ah but they don't actually care if we are happy. They want the illusion of working for us while making their donors happy - the people they really serve.

Yeah but I like that stuff. It gives me options so I have a more space to work around unruly printers. I can't tell you how many times an outdated generic driver from the dark ages was the fix I needed. Especially helpful when working with clients using proprietary software that doesn't play well with others.

You should be asking who his publicist is. Whoever they are, they are very good at what they do. The only reason we all figured out Elon is a trash fire nazi is either he stopped listening to the publicist or he fired them and went rogue.

Oh I agree, but the nursing staff in most ICUs are pretty good about shutting that kind of shit down.

I'm calling BS on that picture. If he's in a long term hospital stay he is going to be in a gown, he's going to have a medical bracelet, an IV, possibly oxygen and he's going to look like hot shit because no one who has been in the hospital looks good even when they are on the road to recovery. The man isn't even wearing a pulseox. If you've ever gone through it with a loved one, you know exactly what I'm talking about. So either they shoved a sick old man in jeans in a button down for a photo op (doubt) or that photo is fake as fuck. I also find the tag being on the outside of that button down shirt suspicious as fuck in an AI is stupid kind of way.

Eh I never minded. I preferred printer problems. Fixing the default printing source made me cool. Downloading a driver or pointing a user to the right network printer made me a hero. Replacing a roller or a fuser so the printer stopped jamming elevated me to legendary. Much more relaxing then fixing someone's janky SQL "formula" because their "excel is broken."
