It's because they were mercilessly targeted via social media algorithms and targeted advertising. Just thinking you're a man you tube exploratorily recommends Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson. It's horrifying, really

Proton is a combination of technologies. The main ones are wine and dxvk

Fuck Bill Maher. He is one of the reasons the current administration is in power in the first place. Not going to pretend he's anything but complicit after 30 years of both sidesing and platforming extremists.

It remains to be seen whether the advent of “agentic AIs,” designed to autonomously execute a series of tasks, will change the situation.

“Agentic AI is already reshaping the enterprise, and only those that move decisively — redesigning their architecture, teams, and ways of working — will unlock its full value,” the report reads.

"Devs are slower with and don't trust LLM based tools. Surely, letting these tools off the leash will somehow manifest their value instead of exacerbating their problems."

Absolute madness.

Even if they were to tell you it is likely to be bullshit, and the honest answers are pretty much limited to "someone else had more xp with what we wanted" or "we liked someone else's vibe better"

I have a friend that asks and he's been told "we didn't think the c suite would like your mustache" and "your shirt was too colorful"

He clearly is charismatic - the results speak for themselves. I'm with you though, even way back in 2015 all I could see is an obvious conman.

Armstrong said his "heavy-handed" approach sent a message to employees that AI is something to lean into and learn about.

Dumbass that doesn't know what his employees even do harmed his company and destroyed morale so he can feel like a big man

I think a lot of people are going to struggle getting their head around the idea of voice being a reliable, primary input method when using a PC, but with agentic AI and the ability for the OS to understand user intent and natural language, it's going to feel a lot more natural than you might think.

You're damn right we're going to struggle. I won't believe it is reliable enough to be anything but infuriating until I see it.

I've seen a lot of stupid shit over my career but this AI zealotry just takes the cake.

Everyone is so convinced these tools will make software get made faster, but I'm not even convinced that it gives even a modest benefit. For me personally they definitely don't, and it seems to lead junior devs horribly astray as often as it helps speed them up.

It feels like I'm not even looking at the same reality as everyone else at this point.
