There is no mystery as to why people on Lemmy hate AI because people have explained it in detail over and over again, and it doesn't boil down to "it has no potential at all". You just don't care to read what they say, apparently.

The people who throw fits about stuff like that don't play the games in the first place

It’s either the coolest modern tech or an environment destroying disaster.

It could be both of these and the latter would be way more important because we have to live in the environment.

I'll be surprised if it ever happens. They've changed languages twice (not incrementally) now. I doubt they're even making forward progress.

Weird flex, but ok

I'm usually a firefox defender, because usually people are blowing everything they do out of proportion, and straight up making up negatives.

That said, I don't know what a "modern AI browser" is but I know it's something I don't want. Hopefully "AI should always be a choice — something people can easily turn off." Is a serious statement.

But also, the AI features they've added so far have been out of my way and haven't bothered me, and if what you're calling for is to use chromium based browsers (gecko down stream is fine) then you are making the wrong decision for the future of the internet. Firefox, chrome, edge, and safari are the only browsers which have a snowballs chance of being accepted in corporate environments, and supporting google over Mozilla is a losing proposition.

Yeah they totally have no choice but to dehumanize and abuse peaceful protestors

Bitter is actually not good coffee. There are also light and medium roasts which taste less like "dark roast" and let more of the flavor of the beans through, which is more interesting and varied for some people. For instance I'd say what I'm drinking now is bright and citrusy.

The point is that comparing AI tools to junior engineers is ridiculous in the first place. It is simply marketing.

Man i remember eclipse doing code completion for for loops and other common snippets in like 2005. LLM riders don't even seem to know what tools have been in use for decades and think using an LLM for these things is somehow revolutionary.

The point is that librewolf is downstream of Firefox. They are not equipped to maintain an entire browser if Firefox goes the way of the dodo
