Macos is a real unix based OS. (As opposed to unix compatible GNU “Gnu is Not Unix”)

I've seen so many people say this over the years, and I'm still not sure why i should give a flying fuck. Additionally, when I worked on low level cross platform software, macos was the one that was missing posix functionally I had to replace by writing shims in objective c

The blog is damage control for his reputation because his vibe coding experiment didn't pan out. I don't care if he says he used it responsibly because it's clear as day that he did not. We can see the git history.

go use open rsync that fails 85 of the 95 rsync tests

And the new test suite is what is vibe coded lol https://neuromatch.social/@jonny/116666900898570791

It would be better for literally everyone including himself if he did nothing. If he wants to be retired he should just be retired.

Its his project to “wreck”

Sure he clearly can do that. It is also the public's prerogative to discuss activities happening in public and their effects. Just like he can be famous for making rsync in the first place, he can be famous for breaking everyone's backups with vibe coding.

Edit: and people discussing dissatisfaction with the direction or governance of a project is the precursor to a relevant fork, so everyone saying "stop complaining or maintain it yourself" is completely misunderstanding how the ecosystem works.

Quality is highly variable by region, and within region by wealth of the area for public schools. Then, there are also private schools in the mix for even deeper opt-in segregation by wealth

That's correct, but the order of tags in XML is not meaningful, and if you parse then write that, it can change order according to the spec. Hence, what you put would be something like the following if it was intended to represent an array.

<items>

</items>

I would call vscode(ium) an IDE

I'll probably get a steam frame as my first VR set. I tried out the Samsung one where you put your phone in it ages ago and thought "at some point this will be mature enough I want one". That point probably would have happened already, but I had 0 interest in being forced into Facebook ecosystem.

Personally, I was just stressed out all the time.

It's really not. You seem to be insinuating they'll take a nuanced approach and treat different types of websites differently, but there is no reason to believe that is the case, and it's not what they've been doing thus far. Espousing that Google has a sustainable long term plan for the internet that we're too stupid to understand just makes you look ridiculous tbh
