"int" can be different widths on different platforms. If all the compilers you must compile with have standard definitions for specific widths then great use em. That hasn't always been the case, in which case you must roll your own. I'm sure some projects did it where it was unneeded, but when you have to do it you have to do it
If things feel tedious do something else. I also go through phases where I start up something I know i normally enjoy like video games and it feels like a chore. I'll focus on some other hobby like biking or hiking for a few weeks and when I get the itch I go back and enjoy the game again.
I also have found if it's kind of happening with everything that reducing alcohol or caffeine or smart phones usage, or getting more exercise can help

The @keyword thing seems cool to me. I use the various shortcuts (random symbols) for those occasionally and have to relook them up so a slightly longer but easier to remember alternative seems like it would be nice.

Your statements are supposed to be moderate, but given the physical realities of actually running the massive LLMs it is terrible. Maybe you saved some time at the expense of learning to write your log script, but you also helped boil the oceans a bit in the process. All the things you tried and failed helped boil the oceans for no benefit at all. You're more optimistic about the utility of it than I am, but even given your perspective, it is a disaster when you consider the externalities of the AI data centers.
