I agree. C2 continuity does matter for aesthetics sometimes, but not for a button.

Even KISS. Sometimes things just have to be complex. Of course you should aim for simplicity where possible, but I've seen people fight against better and more capable options just because they weren't as simple and thus violated the KISS "rule".

The non-strict versions also panic by default, but only in debug mode. So if you were willing to use abs() you should be willing to use strict_abs().

Arguably a bit of a mistake to have the "obvious" function names be surprisingly unsafe, but I guess it's too late to fix that.

I still don't think it's fair to say it's not open source. It clearly is. What you mean is it's not a non-commercial project.

Some of us live in the real world.

I mean the bar charts are not useful for deciding whether or not each parameter makes a difference. You need to plot e.g. the speed difference turning on exceptions makes in each case. Maybe use some colour coding and line styles to group other attributes.

I seriously wonder what kind of circumstances lead someone to be this irrationally devoted to such a flawed and outclassed language. Probably best if I just block you though...

It's an example to demonstrate that linters cannot reliably detect variable name typos - you need static types. None of the stuff you mentioned is relevant.

The typo in your example is also undetectable by linters. I think you're missing the point.

What's awful about this example? The only thing I do is access an object member. Does your code not do that??

I think he meant anyone who can't handle such modern innovations as bold and italic text would probably have an aneurysm if you told them about encryption.

Isn't it actually because they moved most of their driver code onto the card itself or something?

Honestly twice as slow as CPython is probably quite an achievement. Even so I can't imagine many people can tolerate their code running that slow. I'm not really seeing the use case for this. On the web you can use Typescript, which is a better language and far more mature for that use case.
