QBasic was my first language when I started learning around the turn of the century. I remember it being super accessible even with the limited learning resources of the time.

I use a free email service with my custom domain. If it went down I'd just switch to another. Down time would likely just be while DNS records proliferated.

C will likely have a place where low languages are required for a long time. But everywhere else there's little reason to choose over more modern languages.

I wouldn't call bad readability a loaded gun really. Your dev tools will hopefully make it pretty easy to learn the type. It should be a minor inconvenience at best.

I think the point is they aren't forcing it at all. It's being used with the blessing of Linux Jesus and the others are just throwing their toys out of the pram because they don't want to learn it.

Again I think that's a bad attitude towards technology. Use the best tool for the job and you'd get used to the syntax pretty quickly.

Refactoring is usually something like rewrite these 10 c# classes into records.

I do understand it. I just don't want to bother writing it. I can validate the output easily. Works out much quicker overall and often catches edge cases I may not have thought about.
