ICYMI the House #Republicans finally released a U.S. budget, countering the #BidenAdministration proposal. The GOP budget:

  • cuts $1.5 trillion from Social Security
  • raises Medicare costs & cuts caps on pharma fees
  • cuts Medicaid, ACA/Obamacare & the Children’s Health Insurance Prog by $4.5 trillion over 10 years
  • creates $5.5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich and corporations
  • eliminates all clean energy tax incentives
  • raises Social Security Retirement age to 69

@franktaber@mas.to Agree.

Plus Trump himself IS a thread:

Incites violence.

National security.

Plus, Biden is addressing all those other things, AND engaging in a way that makes him relatable, sharp, and gets under Trump's skin, which makes Trump even more vulnerable.

The New York AG's $454 million civil fraud judgment against #Trump has been formally registered in Westchester County just outside Manhattan — a sign his properties in the area may be at risk of being seized if he fails to post an appeal bond. (per Bloomberg) #legal

President #Biden, speaking at a Texas fundraiser: "Just the other day, this defeated looking man came up to me and said: 'Mr. President I need your help. I'm in crushing debt. I'm completely wiped out.' I had to say, 'Donald, I can't help you'." #Trump

Prior mortgages on #Trump properties won’t prevent Tish James from trying to collect on them. But some of those loans are bigger than appreciated. Take Axos Bank’s loans to Trump for Trump Tower’s commercial portion and the Doral course.

Both loans are listed as “over $50 million” on Trump’s August 2023 Office of Government Ethics disclosure. But, according to WaPo, those loans are for $100 million and $125 million respectively.

(seems like it should be easy to say "no" here!)

If NY Attorney General is able to start enforcing her judgment as soon as next week, don’t expect #Trump Tower to top her list. Why? Because as recently as August ‘23, Trump reported Axos Bank still has an outstanding loan on that property for “over $50,000,000.”

Larry Kudlow personally asks Kevin O’Leary to loan Trump the $464 million bond he’ll need to appeal the New York civil fraud case, “in order to protect America’s name, think of it that way.”

O’Leary never answers that one, instead says the Supreme Court needs to intervene.

#LizCheney on Donald Trump: “While the attack was happening, he was handed a note. The note said…a civilian had been shot…He put it on the table in front of him, and he continued to watch the attack…That’s depravity. And that person can never be near the Oval Office again.”

👎🏻 #SCOTUS on Tues allowed #Texas to enforce a contentious new law that gives local police the power to arrest migrants.

The conservative-majority court, with 3 liberal justices dissenting, rejected an emergency request by the Biden administration, which said states have no authority to legislate on immigration, an issue the federal government has sole authority over.” #legal

the thing about #Trump repeatedly insisting that he didn't technically rape anyone is that it draws attention to the fact he was found liable for sexual abuse, which in and of itself should be disqualifying

The big news from this ruling, IMO, which is a point KFaulders
made earlier, is that Cannon is actually TALKING about juries. With her even that is a big step.

2/ I guess I need to explain that I'm floored... because she was PROMPT. As she said she'd be.

But as others have pointed out, this is not on the merits. It's "without prejudice."

So... grain of salt, but still a good ruling.
