Store your database in a nextcloud instance and it's that too

They're the same

Oh for sure, the article folks are inept and absolutely not the people I was talking about. I'm just talking about stuff more like Discord or Steam that are huge distributed systems that don't use centralized databases.

Edit: that don't use centralized databases. I blame the ADHD.

Edit 2: I am agreeing with this person

You said it matches text to its training data, which it does not do.

Your single-phrase statement only works for very short, non-repetitive phrases. As soon as your phrase repeats a token more than a few times, the statistics for the tokens change and could result in nonsensical output that repeats through subsections of the training data.

And even then for that single non-repetitive phrases, the reason you would get that single phrase back is not because it would be "matching on" the phrase. It is because the token weights would effectively encode that the statistical likelihood of the "next token" in the generated output is 100% for a given token when the evaluated token precedes it in the training phrase. Or in other words: Your training data being a single phrase maniplates the statistics so that the most likely output is that single phrase.

However, that is a far cry from simple "matching" against the training data. Which is what you said it does.

My recommendation is to run your own instance of something like OpenVPN on a $5/month Digital Ocean droplet tbh

POL is still around, it's just not quite as user friendly as Lutris. I use Lutris for Battle.net games and older titles where I have a physical disk. Easier than trying to add them to steam IMHO.

I basically talked to my regular doctor about it and he asked me a few questions before agreeing that I have ADHD and prescribing me meds. I didn't realize that was uncommon until I mentioned it too someone else though.

I blame my autism

I can understand not liking it, given your explanation.

My main thing is that I can't really stand shows that have no substance - I'd much rather have shows that I can watch together with my 7yo and have things to call back to when we're having our own disagreements and conversations.

I can definitely see there being parents out there who would rather let the TV parent though, and shows like this one enabling them... but on the other hand, I also think that's a positive for the shows. Bad parents are going to be bad parents, so at least in those cases a kid can at least find some kind of role model.

Either way, different strokes and all that. Hope you've managed to find some good ones to watch these days!

I love my Dactyl Manuform - Been using it for a few years now and loved every moment of it.

Been planning to print+build a second one with the trackball built-in, but I can't find a generator that includes all the options I want, and I have yet to take the time to comprehend openscad. I have bought the parts I would need for it though, so I can eventually make it happen.
