They pay out of initial capital investment and leveraging.

Wait, he uses a stargate to get across a planet? I'm not a Stargate fan but I thought you only have one stargate per planet.

Is it in the OP? I can't see it.

He sues the agency to tie everything up in the courts. It's a power move that only the wealthy can do.

Exactly. "Too big to fail" isn't just for the financial sector.

Two issues with this article:

  1. There is no easy option for selecting strictly necessary cookies.
  2. Rgonomics reminds me of Rogernomics, which has bad connotations (Wikipedia article)

[Due to Rogernomics], over 15 years, New Zealand's economy and social capital faced serious problems: the proliferation of food banks increased dramatically to an estimated 365 in 1994; the number of New Zealanders estimated to be living in poverty grew by at least 35% between 1989 and 1992 while child poverty doubled from 14% in 1982 to 29% in 1994.

Edit: Downvote if you love child poverty, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

rail lines are also more expensive than roads to maintain

That's because they transport more material than roads.

The NZ government did a thought experiment where they shifted all rail to road, and the maintenance costs would increase by $105 million.

Keep in mind the rail system in NZ is underdeveloped.

If you want to shift the most materials from one place to another at the cheapest rate, you would use rail.

the cost of moving your items depends entirely on how many items you move—sometimes roads will be cheaper, and sometimes rails will be cheaper

Do you mean cost to the end consumer or actual expenditure? Are you including CAPEX? What are you actually talking about?

they don’t try to act like that is an absolute

Again, to write an article means to cut out things that don't matter to the core argument. You're asking for the writer to complete a thesis.

Ignoring part of a topic makes your argument weaker.

And again, this is an opinion piece, not a well developed thesis. What you are asking for is both unreasonable and impractical when writing an opinion piece.
