I have to ask, do you use X11 or Wayland? I'm struggling to get Webex working for calls (video or otherwise) under Wayland.

tldr because I am too impatient to read through man pages or google the exact syntax for what I want to do.
Signal is more likely to have more mass appeal. Matrix can bridge just about anything but is (IMHO) a pain to setup the first time. XMPP is reliable and available just about anywhere. I use the first two.
Ask your friends though.
