The third party never forms a government but that does not mean it does not have an impact on national politics. See my other comment.
A three party system is completely different than a two party system even if only two of the parties have ever held a majority.
The NDP has been the official opposition. There are times, as in many minority governments, where the third party has more impact on national policy than the opposition does (via alliances).

Tar is not a package manager, it is just a packaging format. AppImage has the same problem.
Flatpak is a bit of a crappy package manager but at least it is one. And, due to its use of container technology, it allows the same packages to run on any Linux kernel (any Linux distro). That is pretty useful.
Of the other package managers, apk 3 is my favourite but the only distro that uses it is Chimera Linux. Pacman is good. dnf / RPM is ok. apt / deb is in last place for me. The recent Ubuntu 25.04 launch snafu illustrates some of the problems with apt. The first Linus Tech Tips Linux challenge really highlighted the dangers of apt.
I only used snap briefly but instantly hated it. Fstab was a mess. It was slow. It was proprietary. I fled before I could form an educated opinion.

Rust is already dramatically more popular and widespread than ADA ever was ( outside the US military ). Devs that use Rust say they love it. I do not believe that is the rule for ADA.
Rust is also very well suited to extending existing C and C++ code bases. I do not know enough about ADA to compare but it is my sense that it is not as strong there.
There is no ADA in the Linux or Windows kernels.
As everybody else has said, Debian is working as intended. To respond to the actual post though, Debian is working exactly as it always has.
If you think Debian used to be good, you must really love it now. It is better than ever.
Unlike in the past, the primary drawback of Debian Stable ( old package versions ) has multiple viable solutions. Other have rightly pointed out things like the Mozilla APT package and Flatpaks. Great solutions.
My favourite solution is to install Arch via Distrobox. You can then get all the stability of Debian everywhere you need it and, anytime you need additional packages or newer packages, you can install them in the Arch distrobox. Firefox is a prime candidate. You are not going to get newer packages or a greater section than via he Arch repos / AUR ( queue Nix rebuttals ).

I love this reaction and how dramatically out of sync it is with what TempleOS actually is. I know it is innocent and accidental so this is in no way a shot at the poster. It is just a hilariously wrong take.
If they are asking, not discovering, perhaps EndeavourOS would be a better intro to Arch.
I did not “support” Red Hat but I was pretty vocally in opposition to most of the reaction to it. I found the willful inaccuracy and even flagrant dishonestly from the “community” close to disgusting at times. So, you may be including people like me in your comment.
In this case, it seems very straight-forward that NVIDIA is in the wrong. Not just ethically but legally as well.
My own read is that some of the people slamming Red Hat are defending NVIDIA now. Coming away from that experience, I the over-arching principle that many adhere to most is simply whatever is best for them. Red Hat was wrong because people felt entitled to something. The kernel devs are wrong ( and NVIDIA right ) because people feel entitled to something.
