There is not hypervisor. So, no hypervisor to update.

I would have gone with GrubCraft but awesome otherwise.

I have 4 kids. Comments telling me to put their groceries and hockey gear in a basket are hilarious.

I assume you mean The Linux Foundation.

While the LF is US based, the real “product” is the distro and you can choose a non-US distro. My distro of choice is based in Spain.

And, if needed, the kernel could be forked to anywhere in the world without disruption.

Many core programs are built primarily by US firms, like Red Hat, but even OpenBSD relies on many of those. Same story with the forking. OpenBSD maintains some of this themselves (like X11).

Unless they share it against the license terms via copilot of course.

Otherwise, I agree with you.

I really hope we see an acceleration in GIMP releases now that 3.0 is out. Seeing “new contributor” here is a good thing.

At the very least, these improvements get into the hands of GIMP users sooner instead of languishing in a dev release for years.

The problem with this question is that most NVIDIA owners will have experience based on a very different stack than you will experience.

NVIDIA and Wayland have had very big problems that have only recently been resolved. If you are using a very up-to-date distribution then you will have a great experience ( see other comments here about EndeavourOS for example ). If you have a distribution that does not have the latest, there will probably be issues.

AMD has been the clear go-to choice for Linux for years. It is still a safe bet. The safest bet based on history. That said, AMD does have issues as well and with the NVIDIA issues now resolved it is not as clear cut. NVIDIA may actually be the better choice.

The answer is no doubt long, complicated, and not nearly as easy to avoid as you are imagining. Let’s not compound his problems.

You are already drowning in downvotes. Certainly managers are going to have to use office software. I do not think that using Microsoft Offce in school makes it any more likely that you will become a manager.

Most managers are really not that great at using Ofice and, what they know, they learned on the job. Learning to use PowerPoint is more about leaning how to present and communicate in general. A course on the software is not going to teach that and knowing how to use LibreOffice Impress gives you more than enough expertise. In terms of presentation, the marketing department typically dictates the look and feel. You just need to populate a template. None of the executives I know use anything advanced out of Microsoft Word. If you can “track changes”, you can collaborate on documents. Really the only application that managers are likely to have any specialist knowledge around is Excel. I will admit that knowing Excel specifically vs other spreadsheet applications is useful. Being able to do a VLOOKUP, a pivot table, or even just proper multi-sheet formulas is useful. Even just being able to format effectively can make a difference in how professionally you come across. Honestly though, the Internet is littered with $19 Excel courses. Take one.

But the AUR is the best part of Arch. I agree with you but why not use Arch or EndeavourOS and be free to use the AUR without fear.
