For me it hit the number one game I’ve played of all time. I went into the game cold not really knowing anything about it beforehand. The beginning hooked me right away. The battle system I loved (I was a big fan of super Mario rpg and its remaster). The characters I connected with quickly and the scenery I thought was beautiful and quite artistic and varied. Music was also fantastic. I also appreciate the company having the full 8 hour soundtrack on YouTube without ads and that they added so much new and fun post game stuff for absolutely no cost whatsoever. I thought the story drip was fantastic, and had me trying to figure things out like a murder mystery and being confused when my conclusions still didn’t fully add up. The platforming mini games I enjoyed and thought were a nice silly break from the regular loop. I ended up 100% it because I enjoyed it so much. I even bought some merch which is a rare thing for me.

I had some friends that agree with me 100%. I had some friends that thought it was good but not great. I finally had some friends that also thought it was alright but not for them. Everyone has different tastes :).

I’m of the opinion that it’s always better to overestimate something rather than underestimating it or estimating it accurately. If something takes 20 minutes and you are given a couple of days you have multiple options.

1. Get it done asap and early, if you get it done earlier than the deadline then people are happy.
2. If something critical pops up, you can take care of that first then hop on to the twenty minute task because you gave yourself room.

Management loves when things are done early, expects things to be done on time, and gets angry when there’s a delay (and no warning of the delay), so it’s the smart choice in my view.

I think gaming as an adult is better honestly. But that’s thanks to all the experience and understanding built up from gaming as a kid. I would not have had the patience or understanding to play and complete some games as a kid that I was able to do now.

I kept my old car until I couldn’t stand it and inspections were coming up with costly repairs needed. The ac stopped working, I was playing music through an amfm transmitter. It worked alright otherwise. New car (was pre owned but certified) has Bluetooth to connect my phone, drives better, has working ac again and some nice safety features. I’m hoping I can keep the car going for 10 or more years until I need to find a replacement again. I suspect next car will not be as drastic an improvement unless catastrophic things happen with my current car.

I do this on long road trips and notice being with the same car for a long while.

This is true, but most things digital do the same thing if I remember correctly. I think rocket league with free loot boxes does that.

Did end up watching it (I’ve always enjoyed PMG vids and Quinns). In a way I see it, I just don’t quite fully understand why the onus is on Valve. If valve was directly running the gambling sites, that would be one thing. I would give them flack for accepting sponsorships for dota with some of them. Though it’s a similar vein to sport kings advertisements on shows and such.

I don’t get why these target valve and how they are a scourge if it’s purely cosmetic. Only complaint I could see is possibly for tf2, though that never seemed pay to win like.

I work remote 100%. All the replies cover a lot of things that I love about it already. One important thing that I think helps to WFH is to make the spot you work, devoted only to work. I have a small desk set up that I use for work. When I’m done I’m never at the desk again until I’m working again. I think there’s a negative effect if you make your workspace also your play space.
