I have tried every possible setting combination and have tried to look it up online, but anytime i load a gameboy advance game into retroarch on my Anbernic RG DS, the fast forward does not work. I'd set the speed to 0x, 2x, 4x, nothing changes and when i toggle fast forward on, the game itself does not speed up, but the music does.

Has anyone run into this issue? I also cannot figure out how to get rid of the hotkey toggle to make it so i can just press one button to toggle fast forward.

I have retroarch on my phone and the fast forward function works great, but i cannot get it to work on the anbernic RG DS. Anyone know what the solution is? Thanks!

Capitalism ruins another awesome part of our lives.

Yeah, I don't believe he is well. At his age, a fall and CPR aren't going to let him live that much longer if the news reports are correct.

Then again, in a fascist country, we can't trust the news, so who the hell knows.

Welcome!! I had 4 accounts and around 400k karma between them, yeah I know, I was a loser.

They banned all of mine the same way, vpn didn't matter. Lemmy is much better, but avoid lemmy.world and lemmy.ml. I still have to Google some things that only reddit has the answer to, but lemmy has great conversations with less bots.

God i hate these nazi's SO DAMN MUCH. Trump Cancelled all of our solar initiatives that would have saved me thousands on getting solar installed. And now i read that this is another reason why the bike lanes that were supposed to be built have all been put on hold or cancelled entirely.

They never for once think that the more bikers there are, THE LESS CARS ON THE ROAD!! And all of us in the US are struggling with car traffic.

I hope they are all in prison within a year.

I bought an Xbox one X recently to play the newer Forza Horizon series and when i was looking for one, the amount of posts i saw that listed an Xbox one X as a Xbox series X, or someone listing an Xbox series X as an Xbox one was astounding. It was at least 40% of the listings on local sites. Most people didn't care to look at the label on the back to see what they were selling, they just knew it was an xbox. Microsoft really screwed everyone up with their stupid names.

They have to stick their noses out since none of them brush their teeth and i'm sure the stench is horrendous.

Full fascism from the GOP and so many innocent people will be murdered if we don't arrest the trump regime and charge them ASAP.

I'd love to go socialist at this point. Capitalism has only fucked me over and over and over.

I've had mine for about 6 weeks and use rocknix. I have been able to play several PS1 games with no issue, All DS and under play great. Only have some issues with audio on some n64 games and many dream cast games are just too much for the chipset to handle. Retroachievements on DS games didn't matter to me since i never played the DS growing up. But having the retro achievements on all the older consoles is great.

I have the teal matte version and love the color, it looks even better in person, but more green than blue as mentioned. The battery life is rough at only about 3-4 hours, and it does take that same amount of time to charge, so i'm thinking about getting another single screen retro handheld with a better battery life like the trimui brick pro that just got released.

The RG DS also fits perfectly in a 7x9" lipo battery pouch, so i charge my unit in the bag so i don't burn my house down. Well worth the price for $122 including the li po bag on eBay and the Anbernic Carrying case from aliexpress.

I torrent and seed and that shits not legal here. Mullvad has been great for never leaking my torrenting to my ISP.

So there are a lot of options in 2026 to do this, but i'm not sure which is the best route.

Cheapest option for me is the Super Gameboy for SNES as i already have a couple SNES consoles. But the frame rate is sped up slightly, and it doesn't play GBC or GBA games. But this option is $30-35.

Then i have the gamboy player for the Gamecube. Player and disc run about $230 now. I can mod my Gamecube and just get a player for $65, and this way i can play all GB, GBC, and GBA games. Cons are the the input lag from buttons, but it seems the GBI interface when used with Swiss can solve most of this problem.

Then i can get a GB operator for about $60 if i'm willing to wait a month or 2. This would be a $60 option and would allow me to play my GB, GBC, and GBA games on my computer/TV. The ability to back up saves is crucial as i tend to play pokemon 95% of the time. But it's an emulator and not REAL hardware.

Which option would you go with? I'm ignoring the analog pocket and it's docking capabilities due to the cost.

I use Linux Mint and Lutris and i do own all these games, but lost the key or CD over the years. So i wanted to install them on my little Dell Optiplex with an 6th gen i5 and 32gb of ram with integrated intel graphics 730.

You can get any game you want through Archive.org or myabandonware. If you have the .ISO image, just mount it via Image Disk Mounter and use the "i have a windows executable i want to install" through lutris. Find the setup.exe or similarly named .exe file in the iso as the executable for lutris to open. It should install normally like on any windows computer, but create a windows style folder format in it's own folder on your /home folder.

DO NOT LAUNCH THE GAME BEFORE CONFIGURING. You will need to most likely change the game to 32 bit, change the runner options if it doesn't boot with the default Wine runner. You can try Proton, or the System 9, and usually one of them will work. You will also need to change the path of the executable to the correct autorun exe in the folder. Sometimes they can be hard to find, but look in the APPs folders and every folder and for instance Sim City 3000 unlimited was just SCU3.exe and that is the .exe i needed to launch the game correctly.

Some games require winetricks to be enabled, so you can click that box if the game doesn't launch. Same with DGvoodoo, some games like Carmageddon 2 and Sim City 4 only work well with DGvoodoo.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 needs a CD unless you use OpenRCT2, which is a fan made software that works amazing for rollercoaster tycoon and all the expansions. Thanks to the OpenRCT2 creators!

There is an option to make a game windowed and lutris says the option is not supported, but this option is the only way i was able to get Windows Space Cadet Pinball to work.

Game keys can be found many times in the comment sections of archive.org, or you can look up the game on ebay and many sellers will show the key/code on the back of the CD case that you can use.

I have 14 games installed so far and keep finding new games to add. Many of the games run better than they ever did on my old windows equipment.

Any questions, just let me know. But look up tutorials on youtube for step by step instructions and if you run into a problem, let me know.

I finally replaced my old SONY projector TV which had perfect connections for all my old and new consoles. HDMI, component and composite. Since no new TV's come with composite connections, we are all left to either buy a converter, mod our consoles for HDMI, or buy an older TV. Most of these options aren't cheap or easy.

I have a modded Wii, Wii u, Xbox, and Xbox 360. The Modded Wii u replaced my modded Wii since i can play all my gamecube, wii, and wii u games on my Wii u AND since it's via HDMI, all the games look fantastic!

My Modded Xbox 360 replaced my xbox as it can play almost all xbox games and all 360 games. Both consoles can also emulate all retro consoles, so 2 modded consoles can replaced over a dozen retail consoles.

I'm not much of a Sony guy, so haven't modded any of my Playstations, but that may be next.

For playing original hardware i got a $40 Insignia Converter from Best buy that works great for NES-N64 and everything in between. But for the 2000's consoles, they all looked horrible through the converter. Modded consoles make all my old games look better than they ever have.

I have never seen SSX Tricky so clear and detailed!

And now i don't have to spend $450 on a retrotink!
