Lately, I’ve been starting with “share” and then react accordingly. It’s just a very good set of letters. Oddly, I really like starting with “h” because of the very common two letter combos: ch, gh, ph, sh, th, and wh.
Ya that all makes sense. And I can see it when viewing the answers too. I just need to be allowed more wrong attempts to solve.
I sure do. And I can understand the groups afterwards. I think it’s just a struggle for my personal style of thought and analysis. I look at the words and can really only think of how to group them by related definitions. I still enjoy trying the puzzle though!
I am not
Lol whoops. You’ve got it right. I fixed up my previous comment
I used to use the bottom tab bar feature with apollo. It was both great and annoying at the same time. Great because it's much easier (for me) to touch the bottom of the screen rather than the top. Annoying because I would often trigger this by accident. I'm not sure if I want it back or not 😅
I would recommend it as a user option
While I agree that we don't need to "beat" anything or strive for growth, I do think those things will happen naturally if the system is an improvement. And while lemmy's potential is great, there are challenges that come with federation, like those mentioned above. And those problems should be solved in time. Not to generate growth but to improve the system. Growth may follow
Agreed for comments. I also use that all the time and I'm sure we aren't the only ones. I was thinking of this for the post text only... But that makes for an inconsistent interface. Hmmm
As for the last bit, I'm quite certain that most of us just learn languages as needed. I certainly do 😂
Ya... That doesn't seem realistic to me. Very few people will "direct their anger" toward someone with power over them. There's always risk in a addressing issues with your employer because they can make your life worse. They can fire you, reduce your income or working hours, become inflexible with scheduling and demands, remove benefits, etc. No, it doesn't always go this way and there are plenty of fine employers. But even if you have a reasonable employer and are free to raise concerns, there's still risk and confrontation.
And what about alternate employers? Restaurant staff can go find a better employer, right? Except, job searches are very difficult and it's near impossible to identify a good employer from a bad one while interviewing. Very real chance that you make a change and end up with more problems.
Don't get me wrong. These hidden fees are 100% bs. It's just not the employee's responsibility to fix things. They usually have zero power in these situations. "Be good to the customer or I won't get a tip. Be good to the employer or I won't be scheduled to work."
Speaking as a US citizen, I really don't think this is hypocritical at all. The US is 100% supporting Ukraine for its own self interest. Sure, it helps Ukraine fend off an invading country. But that's not our reason. Strategically, US support for Ukraine hurts Russia. I don't think anyone is really hiding from this either.
Also, that bit about the US escalating things is ridiculous.
That basic idea is roughly how compression works in general. Think zip, tar, etc. files. Identify snippets of highly used byte sequences and create a “map of where each sequence is used. These methods work great on simple types of data like text files where there’s a lot of repetition. Photos have a lot more randomness and tend not to compress as well. At least not so simply.
You could apply the same methods to multiple image files but I think you’ll run into the same challenge. They won’t compress very well. So you’d have to come up with a more nuanced strategy. It’s a fascinating idea that’s worth exploring. But you’re definitely in the realm of advanced algorithms, file formats, and storage devices.
That’s apparently my long response for “the other responses are right”
