I don't see people talk about the Katamari Damacy games very much which is a shame because I think they're delightful! I also wish more people talked about Cattails (especially the sequel, Cattails: Wildwood Story), these games deserve more love imo haha

Maybe we should bring kinkshaming back after all

It should be illegal for bots to ignore robots.txt tbh, like fuck AI bros in general but the ones who go out of their way to scrape sites that make it clear they don't want to be scraped... Hope their shitty LLMs get poisoned beyond saving. And that it costs them a fortune in electricity bills. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The fact N64 games are behind a subscription is what really irks me. I wouldn't mind paying €5 for Harvest Moon 64 - the way you could buy retro games on the wii - but having to pay yearly, for a bunch of games (many of which I might not even be interested in) that you can't play anymore once you stop paying? Fuck that

What a horrible day to have eyes.

I saw them!! The Italian 24 hour news channel had a "chimney cam" next to the regular broadcast and I was way more invested in the seagull family than the smoke lol

Ugh I hate those owl café videos :( The owls always look miserable, they're solitary nocturnal animals forced to be awake during the day for people to interact with them

Good on you for warning others honestly! That wounds dreadful, yikes

Wasn't sure whether to throw this into an ask community or here, but ultimately chose casual convo because I am lowkey also looking for advice lol

I landed a job last week (hired me on the spot, did training 3 days later) as one of those people who stand outside shops/etc. asking people to donate to charities. Reputable charities for the record and without cash donations, so not some scam. But the way this is organised is miserable!! I literally get told where I'm supposed to go the night before I go there. I also get paid exclusively based on how many people I get to donate (this was not on the job ad on Indeed). The job itself is fine, is whatever, but between the chaos of having to schedule my day last minute and never being sure how much I'll make in a month... I need to hightail it out of here.

I get paid on the 15th of May, would it be inappropriate for me to quit right after? I'll give two weeks notice of course. My team leader has been super sweet to me and is already telling me I'm a natural and she wants to promote me inside her team... I did hint at the fact this is just a temporary thing for me and what I really want is an office job, but she keeps insisting I should stay and can earn a lot more here (and tbf she makes €3000/month). To be honest this whole structure feels very pyramid scheme-ish lol minus the fact people don't pay into it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this or any experience you want to share!

Everyone praises Mystery Dungeon and the GameCube games, but what are some spin-offs you wish more people talked about? c:

For me it's Pokemon Picross! It's such a simple game but I think it's really charming! I used to play it all the time on my bus commute to university, or between classes lol

Issues with Flash and the actual quality of those games aside, what I really miss from that period of the internet was that children could use it safely. There's no spaces for children on the internet anymore and I think that's really sad, nine year old should be playing Hannah Montana dress-up not get eating disorders from TikTok influencers

Edit for clarity: I didn't mean to come off as though I think the internet was ever safe for unsupervised children because that's not what I believe. What I was trying to say is that the loss of spaces made for children, with adequate content curation and moderation, pushed children on social media which is awful for them

Every time I hear a new piece of news about the Switch 2 it's disappointing. Bummer

It's also worth mentioning you can get most (if not all?) event pokemon through wiimmfi! It's also a lot more reliable than I first assumed, I still regularly play Animal Crossing Wild World with a friend through it and never had a single connection issue
