These build scripts should really be restricted. For any language, not just Rust.

Amateur. He should've stormed Capitol instead and get praises from current government.

For me the worst part is giving Google a phone number and copy of id document. Not a problem with companies, but for individuals it is huge.

As an EU citizen I'd say this should be a wakeup call to push for an alternative and open OS.

Corrected headline for you: 'university "had negotiated directly with a foreign intelligence service to trade my academic freedom for access to the Chinese student market,"'

Sadly, a pandemic is a global occurrence. So it will be a little less fun to watch.

We don't have that many other processors, though. If you look at the desktop, there is AMD and there is Apple silicon which is restricted to Apple products. And then there is nothing. If Intel goes under ground, AMD might become next Intel. It's time (for EU) to invest heavily into RISC-V, the entire stack.

I for one have been a WIndows user (developing apps) since 3.0. And now I'm ditching it for Linux because of clusterfuck Windows 11 is (also to some extent Windows 10). WIll have to run a Windows virtual machine but only for developing long term legacy WIndows .NET Framework apps. For other development (Android, .NET with Avalonia, Blazor, some Rust etc) I'll use Linux natively.

The random air raid that pushed US to war by narrowly avoiding catastrophic navy loss? Yeah, no biggie.

Edit: are->air

This should be rather fixed on OS/software level, shouldn't it? Otherwise no better resolution screen works like ever. That said, I get it, Linux is complicated, but solution to forever use low resolution screens doesn't feel right. 🤷‍♂️
