Man, you have been missing out on the golden age of indie games. Sorry to hear that.

I am Danish and traveled to America last year. My biggest culture shock (other than the giant cars everywhere) was how parents treated their children. I spent a long time on campgrounds all around California, and every single parent I met seemed crazy afraid of letting their children roam and have fun. Some even put leashes on their kids (!!!).

I celebrated New Years in Amsterdam back in 2016. It was an absolute shitshow, and the streets felt like a warzone compared to what I'm used to in Copenhagen. This really doesn't surprise me the least.

Helt ærligt tror jeg det er smartest med nogle få "superspredere" der forbliver tilbage på f.eks. Facebook, og fortsat advokerer for boykot, og deler links til decentraliserede alternativer. Vi kan ikke bare efterlade de langsommeste, uden at give dem en hjælpende hånd videre.

The phones weren't designed to get you addicted to them back then. I am a teacher, and if I had to start every class by convincing all student who didn't put their phones in the phone-locker to do it, then I would have no time left for teaching. I have pivoted to making classroom assignments that students have to complete using their phones instead, and it's working wonders.

In Denmark we call it "cucumber times", when the news have nothing to report on during summer. BBC seems to have taken that term very literally.

I've been playing the Hades 2 beta recently, and I keep thinking about how incredible it is that this game is already better than any AAA title I've played in the last like 8 years. And it's still in beta and made by just 23 people. Call of Duty, FIFA and the like will keep the big studios running for a while, but indie has definitely overtaken the industry and I'm all for it.

Switching to Pop!_OS on a system running a 3090 gave me a significant performance increase. This comes as no surprise.

And in Denmark we just had the most rain in July since 1931. Seems like new weather records are broken every year now.
