How are you storing cash? Savings, HYSA, checking?

Thanks. The share features is there, just not working for me correctly, so I put in a support ticket. Just figured I'd see if anyone had a similar issue here first.

I tried sharing a protonsheet to someone who has a proton.me address. It failed with the message in the title. Why wouldn't I be able to share a proton spreadsheet with another user?

Are there good resources for looking into concierge medicine? That's something I've only been more recently reading about in these kinds of forums.

I don't think it's that kind of retiring we're talking about :)

Do you plan to use ACA or some other plan?

[-] Phfedup@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

What's your plan?

I think it would be great if we had our own little FIRE wiki/article with various options like this. Had heard this from someone else before, but had forgotten about it.

One of the biggest factors in figuring out when early retirement is possible for me is the uncertainty of health care. I've looked into ACA plans, tried to estimate how much things will cost when life is healthy and when it isn't, and considered alternative scenarios, but haven't made myself comfortable, yet, with my options. What are you considering before you qualify for Medicare?

  • ACA and other commercial plans?
  • Spouse/partner not retiring early?
  • Participate in a country with universal/national healthcare?

Higher spending in terms of dollars, but as that relates to % of estate's net worth is decreasing.

Thanks for keeping these going. Just joined and hope more people coming from Reddit can make this more active.

A decade is a long time. I've always been frugal, but I'd say that I've relaxed a bit in some spending as I've approached FI, mostly as it relates to things that make life easier (tools, software, etc.). I'm willing to pay more to make things happen a little faster. But, although spending as gone up more than normal for me, it is still less than my wage has increased.
