The biggest problem is they've over committed what those things are and what they can do.

A lightsaber can cut through anything and the force can do just about any telekinesis you want it to.

Now you need to either ignore these incredibly powerful tools or carefully design intricate, thoughtful problems that can't be flashily solved by CGI theatrics.

So what do they do? Well, 9/10 times, they just make a normal fucking movie/show with Star Wars painted on top. Lightsabers can be blocked by whatever weapon the bad guy has (make it zappy and then it's basically the same as a lightsaber). Things get knocked just out of reach, people hang by their fingers of ledges, bad guys run away down that long street with no way to catch up and some Jedi stands there like a fucking oaf wishing it wasn't so.

All Disney does it up the ante. More power, more different lightsabers, more aliens, more locations. But then they slap that shit on whatever story they have laying around.

Obviously they mean bury it in some sort of water-tight container like plastic.

You're so close to getting it!

We need to make politicians and corporations fix the issues.

It's delusional to think people consuming less is going to magically make the free market more responsible. Like Apple sales are going to plummet and they'll just say, "great, we won't make as many phones" instead of making worse products that become obsolete even faster to make up the sales. What's the free market responsible end goal? No one has phones? No one has computers? Because it's really easy for these companies to brick your devices just with software.

And do we then just have to submit to these corporations? Obviously, no. We need to force them to adhere to rules making our products longer lasting, with better support, without punishing people for not buying new.

"Personal responsibility" is propaganda of the ruling class that refuses to be held accountable. These are global forces creating global crises.

ChatGPT is great because you can use it to show a potential employer how good your writing is for that writing job they'll totally pay you to use ChatGPT to do.

It is and always has been racism that has stopped bad writers from getting writing jobs.

They do it on purpose and it really does make sense. For everyone who supported the game they got the very best value of it. It sucks to pay full price only to have a sale pop up a few weeks or months later and you think "ah, I should have waited!" You buy the game, you support the devs, they keep working on the game, the game gets more, the price goes up for more game.

I wishlisted it when it was under $20. The price went up and up and didn't go down. When I learned it was intentional and would never be cheaper, I bought it and eventually sunk 300 hours over loads of updates. Now the price tag is higher and I get to think "I'm glad I bought it when I did" and not "I should have waited"

The best time to buy Factorio was 8 years ago. The second best time is now.

Maybe I don't know enough about computer graphics, but in what world would you have/want to display a group of 33 pixels (one computed, 32 inferred)?!

Are we inferring 5 to the left and right and the row above and below in weird 3 x 11 strips?

I'm just surprised there isn't a shadow industry of selling blood products fed on people altruistically donating for free (like, as far as I can tell, every country with public healthcare does) with corrupt pseudo-legal marketing ensuring that blood products are not sold for profit (because they sell the bag, not the blood, or they sell the service of delivering blood, or some bullshit like that)
