That and their tax dodging and worker abuse

It's a programming community, you're programming, you're fine.

Clair obscure: Expedition 33. Ok it's not a final fantasy but it's similar turn-based combat to FF/Persona with a lot of style and melodrama. Love it.

There are some games that don't work or don't work as well. Some anti-cheat systems don't work but the website protondb.com will tell you how compatible specific games are. For some people that's a deal breaker and that's ok, hopefully as adoption increases the situation will get better. I was disappointed to find out that vermintide 2 doesn't work for example.

I have no idea on the pirating side.

I'm all for supporting low-to-middle incomes but it's still a huge investment for those not in (or just outside) that bracket. I can't spend 10k now to see the return in 20 years, assuming the rates stay decent. It's not practical.

The thing we should be more concerned about are the parts that Steam haven't opened up, for example Steam input. However they've done everything as openly as possible for the move to Linux and I applaud that. If steam goes away or stops being so open, we still have proton and wine and other projects that mean we're not locked in to a Steam-specific OS, so we avoid the android problem there too.

I think there's something I'm not understanding with logseq because I use it and obsidian and massively prefer obsidian. I can't pinpoint why or what the problem is but it never feels like I can access the notes that I want when I want them. Did you have any issues making the switch?

Without the context of your understanding of the debate as you've outlined here we can only guess what you meant by "the debate" in your previous comment so thanks for taking the time to describe it. I absolutely agree that there needs be great care around the legitimacy of when someone declaring their gender should be taken seriously or not in some limited and extreme circumstances (prisons spring to mind). I think your characterisation of the terf argument if you speak to normal people is about accurate from my limited experience. The media and some outspoken terfs like JK are on the more extreme side of that where they say that it is already "too easy" to legitimately change their gender. Which is where I fundamentally disagree with them since I know the hoops some of my friends have had to jump through to even get the smallest amount of help from health providers.

(I'm using "legitimate" above as a sort of catch all for legal or what the person genuinely feels. I don't think legal and legitimate are the same thing in this context, hence the distinction.)

I've only used helm and hadn't considered kustomize as an equivalent, what about kustomize makes it bette in your opinion?

I agree it's a low-to-mid tier phone but as I'm only using my FP4 for calls, discord, email, browsing, youtube etc it's perfectly fine. Most people don't need a top tier phone these days.

There's an argument to be made that without David Cameron's decision to sacrifice the country's relationship with Europe and appeal to UKIP with the Brexit referendum we wouldn't have had May, Brexit, Boris, Truss or Sunak. To be honest I think we would have had Boris anyway but we maybe wouldn't have had such a lurch to the far right as we've had.

Having said that, I think the shift to the right was already underway, a Boris follow-up was pretty inevitable with how skilled he is at fooling people with charisma (that somehow made everyone forget or forgive his leaked conversation to have a journalist assaulted). His legacy will always be his completely inadequate and corrupt handling of COVID. The one good thing I'll say about him especially compared to Sunak is that he does seem to genuinely care about the environment and did enact some positive environment policy.
