LemmyLeft has a purity test where you must wish death and destruction upon Israel and Jewish people. If you refuse to do so, or have the gall to remove posts that do so, you are a genocidal zionist nazi fascist.

It's not enough to hold the opinion that the Gaza situation is bad and Israel should back off. It's not enough to say "free Palestine". The purity test is that you must actively encourage violence towards Jewish people. Considering how big presence actual neo-nazis have on fediverse, I'd be cautious about boarding that train if I were you.

It's the "anarchist" (they're not really anarchist) subs pushing this narrative, with a whole lot of useful idiots following suit.

Where's the contradiction?

If there's someone you don't like, you only have to deal with them as much as your other relationships need you to.

Your MIL is awful -> engage with her only as much as your spouse expects you to.

If she's a total bitch and your spouse expects you to be besties and you can't talk it out -> re-evaluate your relationship

What kind of people you have around you determine what kind of people you're expected to put up with.

What is important to you determines what kind of people you have around you.

This guy always blocks everyone that shows him he's wrong about something.

Definitely hope it's on Fediverse on some level.

Yes

Also quite literally go touch grass. Take a friend with you. Don't take devices if you're worried.

The point is to think for yourself.

An average hard-line lefty instance that's pretending to be Anarchist, except that they don't actually follow Anarchist ideals and the admins decide what kind of Anarchism is "real Anarchism". The only flavor difference from most (Lefty) instances is that they welcome AI generated stuff, which is overwhelmingly hated on Lemmy.

My favorite part is how their own Golden Rules conflict with their own Code of Conduct, not to mention their admins blatantly do not follow either. It's hardly surprising you have a lot of them blocked.

Are we going to have yet another round of "everyone should be free to do whatever they want except set up groups with mutual interests"? People want some magical force in the universe, beyond human conventions, that prevents any person or group from gaining power over another.

I work as a cleaner. Just regular apartment building hallways and the like. Yes, I think it's important - they had me work through Covid. I also know what it looks like when there's nobody to clean for a few days. Pay is poor but I can listen to podcasts and audiobooks in peace so it's chill enough. I am proud of the work though. I hadn't thought about the impact of custodian work before I started doing it myself and realized how big of a difference it makes. I get by with my pay because I don't have kids but my workmates definitely struggle. It should pay more.

I don't agree with the use but at least you're keeping it private. Not gonna crucify you because I understand the appeal. I'd encourage you to find a way to pay for it though, or even just start making a donation to some environmental cause as a way of off-setting.
