It’s been incredible watching my company try to resolve the AI pricing situation, while desperately forcing everyone to use it even more.

  • We’re paying 100k a month for AI, but deterministic n8n automations have to be carefully monitored so they “don’t cost too much”
  • A project that feeds entire ticket JSONs into Opus 5.5 is an “incredible innovation that everyone should use,” but two minutes later, “please be mindful of token costs and don’t use it when not necessary”
  • Everyone is forced into using Claude, but running airgapped local models forbidden

It’s ridiculous

This wouldn’t be a problem if the jobs that don’t actually require a degree (so jobs that aren’t doctors, engineers, etc.) wouldn’t require one

For example, my job can be done by anyone who can write well enough and knows our local language, plus English. I’ve got a C2 English certificate plus a state English exam

But nooo, some suit decided that this job that I’ve already been doing for 10 years without a degree suddenly ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES one, or I’d get fired

So I went to a lesser known university, cheated and bribed my way through, didn’t learn shit, but suddenly that useless paper is more valuable than my last 10 years of experience

Hey guys, I just joined Lemmy a few days ago so I don’t know how this works lol, but I’m using Mlem. I wanted to see if there are videos on YouTube showcasing some Mlem features that I don’t know about and I stumbled upon this video with no views somehow. The guy in the video says he’s the guy who made Mlem, but there was some drama so he’s not around anymore… does anyone know if it’s legit? Thanks
