That reduced diameter acts as a spring to absorb some of the torque being transmitted from the impact driver to the fastener.
The straight bit will not flex or elastically deform, but will fail in torsion without warning. These bits are not "impact rated", but are meant to be used with hand tools.
That's probably still a net win for the health of the US population though, right?

To elaborate on Honda factories, there are a ton in the US. About 5 or 6 are responsible for final product assembly. There are probably ~10 support factories that assemble engines, transmissions, etc.
Automobiles: 1 in Indiana, 3 or 4 in Ohio, 1 in Alabama. HondaJet in NC. ATVs in NC and SC.
Thank you for this. I live in Ohio and did not know this law existed. I have not heard it brought up in any discussion or news coverage (although I admit my decision was made early and have not spent much time listening to the 'debates'). Did LaRose and company offer any reason as to why they think HB 458 does not apply in this case?

Where does that off-white/tan pipe go?
If I had to guess, the washing machine or sink drains into the same set of pipes.
