XD, I do, I already build my own kernel and turn it off...just saying I don't like it

Yes but the ESP is not /boot, it can be, but rarely is in grub installs

I would think most distros that use glibc should work, steam and pretty much all games don't care about the init system. I personally use devuan and have had no issues.

Is there any country or jurisdiction that has come out against these laws?

The problem is if this gets adopted on a large enough scale not even Tor will save us, all the exit nodes will be subject to censorship. Tor only works because there are some countries which have totally free and open internet. Unless you're talking about moving completely to the darknet.

That's cool. Mine is just an interpreter for execution but it has breakpoints, watchpoints, and save states. I've thought about trying to do some form of JIT or at least AOT but I haven't yet made an attempt. Besides for a debugger that's counter productive.

If you're running btrfs manually and don't setup clean up scripts I'm slightly confused how you get into trouble in the first place since that also means there won't be any automated snapshots.

Well yeah, we all know Minecraft's code is terrible. I just never felt like it was noticeable without mods

I do take it seriously and I think he's overreacting a little but he does make a reasonable point. Bringing 2 languages into the kernel does create a divide that can come with a maintenance burden. The burden is probably worth the benefits but it's still an additional burden and that is a valid concern IMO that should be properly addressed and argued with pros/cons rather than name calling and dismissal. Maybe he is acting in bad faith, but I feel like that should only be the conclusion drawn AFTER a reasonable attempt to talk things over has been made.

Additionally assuming someone is acting in bad faith when they're not can make them jaded with the rust community and push them to actually acting with bad faith even if they weren't before.

Regardless of the situation and whether he's acting in bad faith or not I feel like marcan's comments add nothing productive to the situation and that was my real point with the comment.

This meme must be old as Java 9 added jmods

Wow that sounds like a headache, even though I've avoided python for other reasons that sounds like an additional reason to do so. Also the reason I avoid npm isn't for a technical reason like you've outlined here. It's because even installing npm requires me to install an entire other Linux distros worth of packages. Why do I need to install like 100+ new packages just to use a freaking package manager????

Ngl when Nintendo got yuzu to fold I was like

Well I'm never giving that company money ever again

I'm usually mostly against piracy, not for legal reasons but because I think the creators should be rewarded for their hard work making content people enjoy...but Nintendo can go fly a kite...and crash it while they're at it.
