The media parroting the “ceasefire” phrase are really inking the pen that signs death warrants.

Classic Israeli projection and reversal:
We're not violent, your accusation is violent!
We're not racist, you're antisemitic!
We're not a terrorist state, you're a terrorist!

Anybody who has dealt with domestic violence or other forms of abuse will recognise this pattern very well.

Is there a precedent for a pattern of charging non-terrorists as terrorists, or is it just a product of Israeli lobbying?

The last large corpo I worked for, their laptops would not connect to anything other than intranet unless the VPN application was running first.

Yes, I saw someone on Mastodon say that birds have less and less habitat under the EU and that the notes are becoming the safest place for them at the moment .

I wonder what these 30,000 men were told before they were taken from their families to die for a totalitarian pedo. Tragic.

What the hell is wrong with people. Just couldn’t let people experience joy and had to create tragedy.

Thanks, will check out Lupin!

100%. I'm tired of the anglosphere in general. I'd rather see something else, even if it's not as well funded.

They should face far steeper consequences than Palestine Action supporters (who IMO shouldn’t face any).

[–] Seimhe@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Yeah true, but it’s still all-American. I only saw season one, though.

When I was a kid watching TOS reruns, it felt like the whole world was represented on the bridge of the Enterprise. As I got older and newer series came out, it felt more like Americans In Space, so I tuned out of everything post DS9.

Would love to watch a truly global, optimistic sci-fi series or movie.

They seem a little unnatural to me too. It's like they force a certain perspective. The algorithmic "enhancements" don't help either, especially at night time. It's almost impossible to get a good photo at night with the iPhone, by comparison.

This is pretty cool. I've checked a few of the listings and they seem spot on.

The home page for my site is looking like this so far. The only problem is that I can't get the buttons aligned horizontally.

The setup is a grid container containing 3 group items. Within each group is a H3 heading, paragraph, list items and a button. The buttons at the bottom should all line up.

There aren't many options in the actual editor for things like this. I've set the buttons to be centre justified and I've set the vertical alignment to "bottom".

I don't mind adding custom CSS in the sidebar for the blocks, but it would need to be responsive.

I'm hoping that I can set up a website for a friend and then export it, so they can import it and make their own minor edits to blogs etc. (each of us running Wordpress Studio locally).

The delpoy is just a simply static zip file drag-and-drop to Netlify, so if we can basically pass the Wordpress project back and forth it would be ideal. Is this possible?

These are impressive tools to have on the fediverse. I feel like I can show these to people and they’ll more quickly realise that the fediverse is not a hobby project, and has serious potential.

Over 1,200,000 signatures so far.

Keep going. We need to show our leaders that the phrase "the Union shall uphold and promote its values", does not include the values of a genocide economy.

There's nothing more satisfying that being able to gradually break something up, with different graphical layers of damage, without having to think about opponents getting in the way, like annoying mosquitoes.

So, Lemmy, any recommendations besides the bonus levels on Street Fighter II and Final Fight? Edit: Preferably not FPS.

Hi folks,

I've decided to make the switch and I'm not sure which vinyl player to go for. Here are my requirements:

  • Good sound, obviously
  • Headphone jack
  • Lightweight
  • Self powered, rather than mains
  • Bump resistant (I spend a lot of time on bus journeys each day)
  • Straps for my back (while shopping for groceries, I need to be hands-free)
  • Waterproof up to 2m because I swim at weekends

Anyway, this post was just for fun. I'm jealous of all your vinyl collections. I'm way too mobile to consider the investment but I wish you all well.

I wanted to time parts of each episode of TNG that takes place on the Enterprise D and get the percentage of each episode. It takes me about 7 minutes to do an episode. Is anybody interested on taking on a season and adding it below?

I count time per episode spend on the Enterprise D. This includes internal and external shots. The holodeck does not count as the Enterprise D, unless part of the ship is visible (eg, the arch or grid), or part of the ship is replicated in a way (such as Geordi with Dr. Brahms). I include the credits as Enterprise D time just because it seemed unfair to count that time as being located elsewhere. I did not count brief switches to another location as this would have taken a lot of effort while only amounting to a couple of seconds.

Note that to save time, after recording the start and end times for each episode in the season, I put it all into an LLM and asked it to calculate the totals and overall percentage for the episode. I can supply the prompt for that too.

I've been thinking of how to go about lobbying institutions to join the fediverse. I think the next step could be to look at the domain of accounts with large followings and approach institutions that share those domains. When they see large followings for their subject matter, they would be more likely to join.
