Im not defending privacy overton pushing shenanigans, they are all bullshit.

But that face camera thing is about to become an EU mandate.

All the companies are gearing up for data suction (EU or otherwise), if they don't already have a robust system in place.

China is bad for it, yes, but so is everyone else.

It's all bullshit from all sides

edit: I have since been updated on the actual wording of the mandate and it doesn't specify face cameras specifically, just some mechanism for dealing with drowsy/distracted drivers.

I expect most companies to do this with camera's but it's not a specific camera mandate.

I imagine this is a controversial opinion....but isn't the idiomatic solution to this to either:

petition the mods to get this rule added and enforced

or

To start a community that enforces this rule and let it compete with this one.

Isn't that the whole idea of federation?

Different how, isn't github owned by microsoft ?

Probably not one that stands up to scrutiny.

If they have fixed programming, the bias would be consistent, but still there, because it would be based upon systems that are already inherently bias.

Any current ML system is beholden to the data/constraints it was built with, if inherent bias exists in the data it will exist in the resulting system.

That's before you even start taking in to account the infrastructure that would be managing them being potentially corrupt or having their own interpretations of "public safety".

"These bots from are bringing in more cases against the <"good" people>, but these ones from can be tweaked to target the <"bad" people>, which of these two companies should we purchase our inventory from ?"

I wonder if there is a legit way to get some betting company to cover this, because i'd lay good money on Nintendo taking the shittiest route possible (well, the second in this case, the shittiest would be to actively endorse it ).

Because money.

They aren't quite as bad as Disney so far, but I suspect that's only becayse they haven't been given the chance yet.

Murder isn't a violation of the US definition of free speech, unless the government does the murdering.

Still a crime, but not a constitutional free speech violation.

Not a statement for or against your argument.

But grooming doesn't have to be sexual.

It is, frequently, but it's not a requirement.

For example, any of the trope recruiters that target children for military service in any of the bullshit nationalist wars (in anime of course, IRL military recruiters would never be so unethical)

It's doesnt have to work, it just has to be convincing enough to get the bean counters and/or incompetent/sociopathic upper management to buy in to the idea that they can save money.

Same as always, if the shitstorm created by a decision isn't immediately devastating or can be incontrovertibly tied to said decision then that's just BAU.

but the time the shitshow starts playing the preroll trailers the golden parachutes and bonuses have been claimed.

For them, this isn't broken, this is how the game works.

perhaps they mean chronic fatigue or ME because that looks like what they are describing.

but yes, definition wise:

fatigue = physical

tired = mental (usually, though often used to mean both/combination)

That's a lot of words to say "my beliefs trump basic science".

Peer review reproduction is a bit of a shambles tbh, so not the silver bullet people make it out to be in some fields, agreed.

So let's leave the science aside for now and focus on what you are proposing.

"Just eat less" is about as productive as "Just don't be sad" or "Just stop drinking alcohol", technically correct but woefully inadequate as a practical solution for most people.

edit: before you get even more angry i'm not saying that eating less and exercising more doesn't work, actually read the statement.

Aside from anecdotes and "trust me bro", what knowledge have you shared so far, what solutions ?

I'm legitimately willing to listen to something you can even halfway prove.

Claims science, states no actual science, strawmans up an example that isn't related to the original in any way. claims gaslighting with no actual reference to gaslighting behavior.

No slurs or personal attacks, but i feel like you're going for the subtle approach so you probably don't need those right now.

Hmm, so this is up there, i feel like it's missing something though, can't quite place what, but i'll keep an eye on the replies in case i spot it.

Anyway, 8/10 shitpost, good job, no notes.

While i have you, it sounds like you are a person familiar with how science works and will give me an actual answer rather than deflect.

What is the scientific definition of "parasite"?

Unless you're a big corp, then fuck with impunity but make sure to pay the "cost of doing business" tax.

If the tax is too high, just buy some lobbyists or political system equivalent.
