That's why understanding the difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive" is important.

Survivorship bias i suspect, the company needs to fuck up big enough for it to be worth noting, survive that fuck-up and then admit enough wrongdoing (fiscally, if nothing else) to be able to be in the situation where a story like that would come out.

I think we'll hear more over time, but as a thing that happened in the past.

Some companies might not survive to rehire, some might only just survive and rehiring isn't on the cards.

Some might limp forwards and work through without rehires.

2/4 ain't bad.

I like the fact that it’s free as in freedom.

Freedom subject to the instance you are signed up to (and posting to) , unless you run your own, but if you do that why are on .world ?

I like that there are intelligent people; the collective is extremely frustrating and intellectually lazy, but there are actual thought-provoking interactions by people who put in actual effort.

If you are looking for this in a community called "Lemmy Shitpost" i have an exciting bridge based opportunity in which i think you'll be interested.

Being a person of evident intellect, I’m sure you'll recognise an opportunity when you see one.

In theory they are supposed to pay a commensurate amount of taxes.

There are several reasons to put actual people in to space.

They might be reasons you think worth it, but they do exist.

i always thought of it as the general worsening of something in the pursuit of the short term increase in capitalist benefits (or the delusion of such).

It's used a lot for products and/or services but underlying those is probably the enshittification of all the supporting structures, mental and physical health of the workers etc.

I could be wrong however.

OK, so if negative fucks were a thing that would be how may fucks in general i give about the actual argument you are having.

That being said, to me it seems hypocritical to be throwing shade about intentional animal cruelty unless you are somehow posting these replies without using any electronics whatsoever.

Almost all electronics require materials sourced or processed off the back of rare earth minerals not even mentioning the supply chain and assembly.

As you said, people are animals too, slavery and workplace mutilation are animal abuse.

I'm not whattabouting your argument, both things are fucked up and one doesn't cancel out the other and as i said, i'm not supporting either side.

but the stunning lack of awareness (or acknowledgement) of the hypocrisy of your argument is offensive.

Ah the tried and tested "it's ok if it's my property" which historically(and currently) is a universal guideline for what is and isn't ok.

Is there a pro-conservation reason for stringing them up? genuine question.

Like some territory marking thing ?

That aside, fox hunting as a "sport" is traditionally a shitshow , not because of the foxes dying specifically , but because of the way it is conducted.

This doesn’t seem to be related to fox hunting (the "sport") though, perhaps the two are being conflated here, or there is some sort of link not disclosed ?

It wasn't until the (late) 1980's that there was universal acceptance that baby human's felt pain.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pain_in_babies

Its not better that this was the case, but it's a little more even-handedly stupid.

Because he was envious and afraid humans would be irrelevant/replaced.

If a bigger threat shows up that makes superman just as much a chump as the rest of humanity, I'd imagine this lex would absolutely step in to help out, even if only to prove his continued relevance and give a big fuck you.

This superman, giving zero fucks about lex's inferiority complex, would accept the help to get the job done.

That's like looking at a tennis match and asking "how does wearing white win the game?".

Ignoring context to feign confusion is some weaksauce trolling.
