Beef is the major factor in the amazon, by a large margin, as in my original comment. Palm Oil is not a significant part in Brazil, nor real state. Mineral is mainly in Roraima, but not as big as beef, because it’s based on small operations, there are a lot of sources on this for gold mining and the local Yanomami indigenous population that fights agains this (as this is done on their land).

Cool story, still irrelevant to my point which was:

Create a revenue vacuum (like removing the biggest value stream in a region) and oligarchs gonna oligarch right in and expand another value stream to make up the difference.

I’m not advocating for this to happen, I’m saying that expecting beef reduction to remove oligarchs from the amazon is unrealistic.

I don't see how a pastor who has passed the same necessary background checks as a teacher (this is required in the UK) is any more of a risk than the secular teachers.

This I agree with in principal, though I would also add that the church (organised religion in general, really) has reputation for protecting it's members for a reason.

I would also add that the equal checks standard isn't in every country.

Assuming the odds are the same for both to be a perpetrator, one of those is anecdotally ( possibly statistically ) more likely to receive protection.

There are supposed to be 5 story episodes, i think the last released episode (4) was three years ago.

Since then they've released a full DLC and are close to releasing the second game from what i can tell.

I'm not bitter or anything, i haven't got past the second episode yet, so this makes zero difference to me personally.

I don't personally consider this a language issue as much as a people issue.

IIRC the current evaluation methodologies are heavily tied to the idea of a spectrum of traits, each with their own scale.

As you say, there are other spectrum diagnoses including autism, so "on the spectrum" is technically correct.

Which is why i consider the issue you seem to be describing as a person issue, not a language one.

A person using a descriptor or label with the intention of being an arsehole could just as easily use a different word or phrase.

Using something that isn't inherently considered offensive however, gives them some plausible deniability.

You can choose to find the phrase itself offensive and let people know of your opinion, but you should probably manage your expectations around how other people are using it so you can get an accurate reading on social intent.
