I love the wording of "some features will change" and even "new features" when the only change is that features will be removed.

It does, you can subscribe to communities and go to front-page section to view posts from subbed communities. So far I prefer connect over the others, most reminiscent of relay and jerboa just kept crashing on me don't know if they fixed it since.
