I believe avidemux will work for OP (with replacing audio), and it's what I normally use (usually only for cutting though), but lossless-cut does look way more featureful.

Also apart from the expansion cards, the ram and SSD are quite cheaper to get elsewhere, especially if you can reuse your old laptop's. So it's still possible to get a sub 1k config.

I do kinda agree with the others that this is a power issue, but I was thinking it wouldn't harm to run a memtest, maybe whatever part of RAM the iGPU is mapped to is dying or something like that.

Have you disabled auto start in the DHCP profile?

I probably could have been a bit clearer what I mean too: Those profiles with DHCP enabled in network manager should have a 'Connect automatically' toggle, maybe try just turning them off instead of deleting them, and make sure they're turned on for the static IP profile.

I also haven't used Xubuntu in a while, and this is mostly for Debian KDE and Ubuntu, so I'm hoping it's the same.

Yeah probably, I was just using one of those cheap 2x 10G + 4x 2.5G switches that ServeTheHome recently did a video on, so I would not be surprised if that was the bottle neck here.

Nah SATA is built into the chipset. That second x16 is actually only electrically x4 in an x16 form factor, and there's that x1 slot, adding up to 5 lanes in total. The first x16 and first nvme slot (x4) are connected to the CPU directly (which IIRC most have 20 lanes on AM4, but not always).

It seems like only 5 of 6 chipset PCIe lanes are exposed on the board, so it's totally possible that they used the extra x1 for a USB card.

(The Gen 3 slots come off the CPU, so aren't counted)
