That was so funny.
Thanks, this comment is an excellent example of why this pardon is so frustrating. Nepotism is not normal. This pardon is not normal. But if you didn't know better, you could easily be swayed by this nonsensical comment.
We now have to defend against this kind of rhetoric thanks to Joe Biden.
Then you shouldn't be president.
To answer your question, I wouldn't feel good, I would feel great.
I don't care what you think I am. I want justice. The American people want justice. This isn't justice. It's corruption. We shouldn't want corruption in the government, because that's how countries deteriorate.
People want to live in a country with a fair justice system. Biden contributed to the system he says was unfair to his son and then saves his son from it. Biden is fucking off with his family, they got theirs. We don't have a reason to defend Biden anymore. Blue MAGA isn't useful for winning elections.
He's got 48 days. It's time for Joe to get writing.
I'm not a fan of the nepotism and I don't plan on defending it. Biden claims he needs to do this to keep his family safe from an unfair system. If he's going to do stuff like this and acknowledge our institutions are flawed how about do stuff for the American people, Ukraine, or anyone without the last name Biden. The peaceful transfer of power to fascism, but his family got theirs leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Yeah, for most of the working class, money will be a constant struggle to make ends meet. For the rich, money will be an id card, a hall pass, or arcade tickets, proof that you belong and deserve your place in the hierarchy. The extraction of value from the workers' labor will of course be how society will have anything for the owner class to benefit from and enjoy.
People won't see the difference from today clearly though. Americans will say they are doing everything right, but they can't seem to make a living. The media will say the economy's great but it's not lifting all boats. People will be accused of not wanting to work when all they do is work.
Generations of young people will probably inherent or be given smart devices from past generations, so they'll have picked up how to text. For many people, education might be limited to what you can learn through your monthly free tokens for AI generated responses to questions. There will be cool brain chips to download lessons for private school students, so there is that.
Everyone will still have to pay no matter how rich they are. The owner class and certain high skill workers like doctors, surgeons, lawyers, judges, engineers, military generals, etc will be the only ones who can afford anything worthwhile like an education or medical treatment. The working class will mostly get to work in manual labor that isn't easy to automate until they die from a preventable illness. However, in that scenario, that state of affairs probably won't last long. Climate change is probably going to get us sooner rather than later and the billionaires will retreat to their apocalypse bunkers.
This sucks. It seems like this has a good chance of getting passed and signed into law next year if it does get blocked this year. The mainstream media was already against the pro-Palestinian movement. It's going to be hard to protest if every organization thinks they are going to be labeled a terrorist supporter by association and lose their tax exempt status.
I would say this is like a Red Scare or a war on terror, but it's more of Republicans controlling every aspect of society. When they said small government, they meant we, the citizens, were all going to have pay for everything directly. And tough luck if you can't afford any of it.
To be fair, there are multiple lessons to learn from this election cycle.
I didn't know Clinton did that. Some how the Republicans in my life never mentioned that one. It wasn't good when Clinton did it either though.
Biden's pardon of Hunter Biden is more notable because Democrats made it a part of their messaging that Biden wouldn't pardon Hunter Biden. It was their moral line and Biden crossed it as soon as he had nothing left to lose. John explained it best, thankfully.
