Didn't they try to do this, like, twice already? First with island expeditions, and then Torghast, both of which were very much just chores. Third time's the charm I guess, but I do not have high hopes.

One of the things I miss about old r/196 is a better efford to provide source for art. People here don't care as much, unfortunately.
I also felt this way, until I read that the system is completely opt-in. Logistics of quality seem kinda interesting, so I'll probably try to dip into it. And if I won't like it, ignoring the quality upgrade is easy and (allegedly) won't hurt the progression.
I could not finish Omori because I just don't get the rurn-based combat, it feels boring to me and I can't bring myself to even open the game because of it. On the other hand, I got to the latter half of the story already, it's intriguing and I want to complete it so badly :c

Etho is a great YouTuber, mostly famous among older MC fans. He has, I believe, the longest Minecraft letsplay (581 episodes and still going).
