I've seen it said quite nicely elsewhere on the Internet: It's not Red vs Blue, it's billionaires vs you. Act accordingly.

I think they're pointing out how all political pundits will blame the deficit on whoever the next Democrat president is. The truth you just wrote won't be mentioned by any of them and all blame will be assigned to the next one.

I have never heard the phrase "everything you like about life is a market inefficiency" before, and I think it is simultaneously horrifying and accurate and my life is now a little worse. I don't know what to do with this info, but I feel I need to share it

I too left Twitter around the same time, and I really wish that Mastodon would just replace Twitter already. There is a certain silliness that occurs there that is still rare on Mastodon. I'm excited for more of that silliness to come to the Fediverse. I don't look forward to all the Nazis who eventually will get bored of their echo chamber and try to meander over. I hope the right tools, people, and hardware are in place when it happens.

I kind of imagine all the right people and tools are there. I'm less confident on the hardware.

I mean they made some strong arguments for their existence. I don't think creating a technically novel piece of software was the goal. This is a technical solution to a legal issue that they expect will soon exist. The sheer existence of this acts as a warning and hurdle for politicians and those funding these laws for the next more invasive version of these laws. I don't expect I'll ever use this, but I'm glad it exists, as its existence is enough for it to work.

Very fair, it is definitely polarizing, but it is up my alley. Cheers

That truck looks amazing and I want nothing to do with whatever engine they're putting in it. Someone needs to drop a Toyota engine in there and it could legitimately be awesome

I was under the impression that there are metal flakes in the flavors that absolutely wrecked your lungs. More so than regular cigarettes, was my understanding.

What is the best place for news? I feel like Lemmy is where I get my news. I'm wondering if I should be paying for a news service like ground news or something. These journalists should be paid for the work they do, and I feel like I'm not doing that as of right now. I'm using Adnauseum, so technically every ad is getting clicked then blocked, so the site may actually get some ad revenue, but I'm wondering if a paid news service is the right thing to do. If Apple news is wrong, and Google news is wrong, what is right? Or perhaps what is least wrong?
