I don't count being polite in public small talk, I mean things like being at a party where you don't know anybody, work events, ceremonial events, those kinds of small, short hells.

Talking random bullshit with someone you know well is great, performative socially masked pleasantries specifically chosen for their generality, and uncontroversial nature is immensely draining emotionally and mentally.

The movie has a couple good bits, it's only real crime is being a little boring. It's definitely overblown in it's legend of being bad, Biodome for instance made me viscerally angry in a way this movie never could.

Any regulator specifically exists to counter these forces, so any regulatory capture is the most devastating to society as it opens entire industries to corruption. For some reason capitalists think foxes know the most about chickens, so surely they should be in charge of the henhouse.

Find something you love to make your goal in life. Only finding motivation in stressors to escape rather than something to move towards will burn you out and drive you to the depths of depression, even if you're successful at it.

Metric and The Tea Party are both pretty good for alt rock, although I'm bored to death of the one or two songs each get on the radio.

I can tell you as someone born and raised here, oil money has led this place to become a mecca for every dumb asshole across Canada to forgo further education and try to get rich quick. The majority will crash and burn and the rest will retire in Kelowna.
