Ditto. I'll hear people disparage because "why did they get addicted in the first place" and it frustrates me - I used to work IT for a company with a dedicated facility for people with criminal records. I met many recovered addicts and the most common cause of their addiction was being prescribed opioids.

But I don't think people need an excuse anyway. Life isn't perfect, far from it.

My sister uses a variation of this closer to a traditional lighter with a long neck to light her candles. It's rechargeable, and she's been using the same one for over a decade.

Lotito holds the record for the "strangest diet" in the Guinness Book of Records. He was awarded a plaque, made of brass, by the publishers to commemorate his abilities. He ate his award.

I love this.

This is title gore (not OP, the original article). The title reads like the cleaner was already dead. What's wrong with just "charged with murder of cleaner who came to his door by mistake"?

My main issue with the singular "God" portrayed in many mainstream religions is that it's billed as omnipotent and all powerful.

If a person has the ability to, through action, prevent great harm, and just ignores it - that is not the type of person I want to be, more or less "believe in". If you're all powerful and you allow children to be maimed for life, die young, starve, etc. - you aren't worth an ounce of my faith. And save the classic "but if he intervened it would interfere with our free will" bullshit.

I've considered religions with many gods, like Norse Paganism - I'm just not the religious type, but if I were, something where gods are fallible is much more believable.

I'm fairly certain I annoy the people at my bank because I always insist on calling them back at their official number if they ask for any personal information. I don't fuck around with my bank security. I did however get got a couple of more years ago back when the chrome browser window phishing attack first started and had my Steam account stolen for a solid minute.

That's the attack where they simulate a browser window so what you think is a oauth popup is actually just inpage javascript and CSS.

A not so funny story on a similar vein: roughly a week after my parent's friends of a couple decades agreed to be named as our guardians, the husband announced, on April 1st, he was getting a divorce.

It wasn't a terrible joke, he just chose the most inappropriate time to announce it.

He did get the raw end of that divorce in court though, the judge really didn't like him after he brought his mistress to court.

As a resident that still angers me.

When it comes to commits, single feature / scoped commits are quality. So this git history is actually underwhelming if the author is full time. This is a good read.

One of my first projects I took over stored hashed passwords, but only unsalted MD5s, in the process of upgrading the hashing algorithm I discovered the plaintext passwords were logged on any sign in, sign up, or password change...

My home page is literally bathtub streamers and horny VR chat streamers, I think it's because I watch VR chat meme streamers (lolathon, darrenzeus) and the algorithm just thinks that means I want horny shit. I'll have to look at that extension.
