One other benefit for road tripping - at least it's one I find to be a benefit, is the DCFC charging wait (for trips that can't be made on a single charge).

Growing up my family went on a lot of road trips and the emphasis was always on reducing time at stops. No time to relax, no time to use the restroom, no time to eat.

Charging gives an actual estimate on when you're road ready again, giving you real time where there is no thought in the back of your mind "I'm delaying our arrival".

Sure you can get cars with faster DCFC and we're getting to the point where charge time and refilling a tank are more or less the same. But I can enjoy the wait while I lasts.

I've been running Qwen 3.5 122B A10B but recently swapped to Qwen 3.6 35B A3B - both using OpenCode e as my agentic harness (though I've also used Pi). I've been happy with the output, though I have to be more precise with my prompts and do planning passes.

We did not have TT/VTT. We had some visual aids, like the layouts of ships were sent in chat for us to look at. I don't think it really hampered the experience, and I have aphantasia so "theater of the mind" usually doesn't help me much lol. It was more than serviceable.

To be fair, my night job is WFH and mostly passive (monitoring computers) so I usually only have about 1 hour of effort for the shift. Otherwise I would not be able to make that work ha.

I'd rather just write it out. I've never used snippets or macros per say, but I do make liberal use of regex replace and multiline cursors lol. Writing out a bunch of getters and setters? Regex!

I did try LLM tab auto complete and while sure, it did suggest some stuff that was useful (after refactoring it), the amount of time I spent WTF'ing some suggestions it made wasn't worth it.

I find more benefit from asking an LLM about something I'm undecided or confused about, and while it's never given me a good enough answer, it has stirred enough creative juices in my brain to help me along lol.

I was responding to the way OP depicted his smoking as "every other day at night". If they had just said their roommate smoked I would have interpreted it like you present it. Designated clothes are a good idea though. Scentless lysol works but for a chain smoker is going to burn a hole in the pocket.

Not to mention a dead pixel can be indicative of future failures. My brand new Pixel 7 Pro had a single dead pixel. I didn't notice until I finished setting it up (or maybe it didn't show up until then). Being lazy and not wanting to set it up again, I decided to ignore it. It was at the bottom, out of the way.

A month or two later I woke up one day, checked notifications and took my horror that dead pixel had upgraded to an entire line at the bottom. Enough was enough, I missed my window for a store return but was able to get a RMA setup. Replacement is going strong, no dead pixel and none showing up.

I used Arch for AUR, but with flatpak getting more popular these last few years even the more niche stuff I had to rely on AUR for got a flatpak. So I've been trying out immutable distros like Fedora Kinoite.
