I'm not running an OLED but my monitor is HDR capable and I prefer the look, however I don't run it in HDR mode. Reason being, it fucks with my OBS recordings and I have to up the quality significantly for them to be usable, which ups the storage requirements.

There are some things I've grown to like. I feel better represented by my choice of instance. I could self host my own, but don't really want to incur that maintenance. I do like that if my instance were to do something I disagree with, I don't have to leave the community as a whole like I did with Reddit, and should instead find a new home.

I also kind that it's easier to filter out the personalities that bother me, since they tend to flock to specific instances. I still have to contend with them occasionally, but that's no different than Reddit, but less often.

Most of my interactions here have been with reasonable people, even when we disagreed. It does feel a little quiet at times, but that's ok.

Somehow not surprised I'm at just over 21K spent. That being said, that was from half a decade ago when I uh... Wasn't as mature. Probably only 1K since then and strictly on games, not micro transactions.

Straterra is what I found worked for me. It still needs to be prescribed.

Because there are alot of ignorant people in the world afraid of what they perceive as different.

In your first two examples, regardless of not being politicians it's clear that by helping put politicians in power they benefit, so whether they genuinely care or not, it's just about money and lack of compassion to them. And continuing to drive class warfare continues to benefit them.

In your last example, I think that person is just in the ignorant and afraid of change category with an unfortunate amount of exposure.

Honestly one could probably make a comparison to a loan shark, you keep paying it off but the interest is so high and you keep borrowing more you just stay in debt and keep sinking deeper.

Cruel? Of the places to be stabbed, the belly is probably one of the least severe ones, especially on males, so long as you get medical attention. Stabbing in a limb could result in long term damage much more easily.

You were in the process of being strangled, even if in hindsight you think you did, you weren't making a choice with any thought of it being cruel or not. There was likely adrenaline at that point, and panic. No one could successfully argue you had the presence of mind to make a conscious decision to be cruel.

I'm sure you'll have lifelong trauma, and might need to seek therapy if you aren't already receiving it. It sounds like a part of what you're experiencing is a form of survivor's guilt. But no, how you got yourself out of that situation wasn't cruel.

To be fair, making a device wifi connected is stupid cheap nowadays. That being said, you bet your ass they're harvesting data.

My parents got a fridge with a similar feature and no screen (they didn't know it had that) but I was curious and hooked it to the IOT network. Literally the only smart feature it exposed was a door open sensor...

That's what I thought at first, but the person who wrote the article is named Simon, and based on the context given in the article I'm assuming that was a test unit he had on his desk, but the planned implementation is in bathrooms.

There are quite a few usable ones. And yes, it is strange it doesn't support it. You can expose an OpenAI-like API for chat, but not completion.

It's also missing git functionality (it is on the roadmap), only showing you modified or new files.

Personally I haven't had issues with the Signal on various platforms since I started using Signal back in 2020.
