I miss the Moto Z days. Those were some excellent phones and being able to slap an extra battery on the back was amazing. Mods could've gone so much further if they put some more R&D in it

Not on fedora, but on Neon with a 3070. KDE 6 will lock up on Xorg, while electron apps will flash on Wayland, though there is a flag to enable Wayland support, it keeps dropping off of discord every time it updates. Running nvidia 550 proprietary, haven't gotten to use the open ones yet as I need cuda for work

As far as I'm aware they can only be used on Android. I did a search for APK on Roku and I all found were some articles erroneously calling custom channels APKs. Roku does let you side load custom channels in developer mode, but you can remove software like you can on an android box, so you're always stuck with Roku's ad riddled home page and whatever injects ads into HDMI

If you're gonna be rocking it for a while, you might want to consider shelling out a bit more for one of the Pixel 8s. I saw you mentioned you're on graphene in a different comment, and the 8s are supposed to get 7 years of hardware support from Google, whereas the 6 has 3 out of the promised 5 years remaining. The 8s also have hardware memory tagging support from graphene, which isn't available on the other models due to the processor architecture supporting it.

I've owned a 6, 7 pro, and 8 pro. By far the fingerprint reader has been the best on the 8 pro. Seems they solved the long waits from the 6 and 7 series.

Not to mention the flat screen as well as DP Alt mode (usage for this apparently coming in Android 15).

If you're on more of a budget, keep in mind that the a series are really close to the normal models, with small downgrades like wireless charging & IP rating, but can be decently cheaper. The pixel 7a came out in May last year, you may be able to get a slightly better deal if you wait for the Google I/O announcement.

Possibly doing updates? I know something along the lines of "use my credentials to finish updating after reboot" is an option, but I was pretty sure that just got past the "We're getting you PC ready for you" screen & dropped you back to the login screen

A real answer to your question though, as long as you can get it to reconnect, even if you have to close the window first, it should still have your changes to the file ready to save. These will be cached (somewhere?) unless you close the file.

Personally a big fan of the pixel series. Running a P7P unlocked right now. Google doesn't attempt to hamper the bootloader unlocking process in the least. I pre-ordered this phone and had it rooted on day one. I run stock (other than root) but I've played around with some others, like graphene and lineage.

One downside is that TWRP doesn't support tensor yet, so P6 & P7 aren't supported, but flashing is still easy without it.

Pixels seem to have a very long community support, I gave my sister an old P2XL with pixel experience on it so she had the latest security patches and she seems to really like it.

I've seen complaints about the P7 series overheating. I've had mine shutdown twice because of thermals, but this was in the sun while I was running nav on Android Auto. Moving it to the shade and letting it reboot seemed to fix that.

All of the pixels released so far don't have DP Alt mode which is a real bummer, but I've seen rumors that the P8 (October 23?) Will include it, so I remain hopeful.
