Yeah, I enjoyed it but I wouldn’t consider it my favorite romance of this decade. So far I think Insomniacs After School took that spot for me. Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague was also a solid romance anime too.

I can’t be upset with Spotify because it’s still a better system than hoping any physical media I release will make it into the hands of others, in a music industry that has generally discouraged people from listening to underground artists. With digital media, Bandcamp is probably one of the best platforms for artists.

Tax in almost every single place I’ve ever been to in the United States is not nearly so complicated. State tax, occasional city/county tax, seldom restaurant tax are nearly always flat rates. It wouldn’t be difficult to incorporate those taxes applied for each individual item to their prices at all. Most places choose not to because it inflates the price on menus and price tags, and most people assume tax is not included in these prices.
The initial shock of charging more could convince patrons to go elsewhere if it’s not perfectly clear tax is included in the price.
I run a Lenovo X1 Yoga on PopOS and the overall experience has been great. Touch screen works well and the only complaint I can make is that the on-screen keyboard could be a little easier to deal with but it isn’t bad at all.
I agree that having many smaller instances which serve more distinct communities is by far the most pragmatic choice. The idea of communities distinct from instances is nice on paper, but it gives instance managers the impression a single instance can serve a wide-range of interests without incurring proportional overhead on the resources.
Lemmy is the closest thing we have to the evolution of reddit. So far it's just a matter of handling the backend which was nearly always done by a well-resourced organization instead of individual volunteers. I think instances will naturally become more abundant, and specific to their purposes, and users will be able to distribute their accounts accordingly.
At the very least leave this world in peace
I've had a pretty good time with PopOS. GNOME is a bit rough at times (handling window sizes, font size changes, monitor layout updates) and I only had DisplayLink driver issues, which is probably trivial for most personal users nowadays.
Seems like mobile for lemmy in general (any instance) is just suffering. I couldn't create an account or login using iOS. Desktop is fine, but it acts like JS doesn't even work on mobile browsers, at least my mobile browsers.
As mentioned in other parts of this thread, it's all a WIP. I'm just happy to have a proper reddit alternative

Get your own Arris Surfboard without the Router elements, make sure it is DOCSIS 3.1 and the maximum bandwidth exceeds your current speed provided by the ISP. I would recommend the SB8200 but check with your ISP to guarantee that they will accept a connection with that model.
Purchase any router you like. I’m sure you can find plenty of router recommendations online. If you wanted a rack router you could even get one of those, but it sounds like you just need a solid wireless router that has good coverage and a few ports on the back, which is pretty standard.
