I want to add, since I’m now listening to Willie The Pimp, that Captain Beefheart’s (and His Magic Band’s) 1972 album Clear Spot is a great collection of tracks that flows very nicely from the styles of Hot Rats. It’s definitely more narrow in terms of the types of sounds, but it’s still amazing.
In 1999, how many people in the workplace, or specifically in management, would have been in school when they taught people how to use the internet? This is five years since public access to the WWW.
Only certain people had the knowledge to download and install freeware to a floppy disk. Most people in 1999 had no clue about freeware or even how to find stuff like that. Even today, most people who could know just don’t care enough to do it.
We assume WD isn’t outsourcing their firmware engineering. That could explain why they’re so quiet.
I’ve owned SanDisk for years, before 2016 and after. I haven’t seen a quality difference in the products I use but I also haven’t personally owned this Extreme drive. Flash memory used to have abysmal lifespans, like really bad at long-term storage. Makes me wonder if these Extreme drives are using old tech to save WD their bottom dollar.
Definitely seems like a difficult thing to establish without many years and many participants involved. Surveys would be an easy way to get people’s self-evaluation of their own usage of gratitude and the usage by other people, but their relevance to actual usage is probably limited.
I just have everything else on Cloudflare, unless they never support the .dev domain it doesn’t make sense to keep one domain separated from my others. No personal dislike or disrespect towards porkbun.
Had some guy from one of their shell companies tell me a domain no one would ever spend five figures on was being sold for $55k. GoDaddy sucks massively.
Most of my work happens in browser, some of it happens in terminal, other parts happen in vscode. I have very little method to the madness but I’m hoping at some point in the not so distant future to consolidate my desk to a triple monitor setup. I currently have two connected to the work laptop and two for my personal desktop. It’s a bit chaotic
The law states “individual” not sure if this applies to the government disseminating personally identifying information to other governments.
Plus the other side MSNBC and CNN just feed people statements that are meant to make them upset, nervous and angry, all of the news media is hot garbage. I can’t stand any of it because it’s all blatant propaganda

His voice, his words carry with him the vibes of the 60s and 70s. It’s kind of surreal, he could have recorded this the other day but the words themselves still feel like they came from that time.
The music plays into this element so well. It doesn’t overstate it, it simply takes advantage of it. We start with flute trills and drum fills that would have been somewhat common at that time, then we get the digital alterations, the suspense compounds into near chaos.
