We typically dont close communities on programming.dev since then theres only one option for things
Ends up having things like people who use the community no longer being able to access the content and being difficult for the community to move off of it if something happens
e.g. beehaw.org is defederated from sh.itjust.works so any beehaw users wouldnt be able to use the community if the programming.dev one is closed
New identity, lemmy doesn't support SSO for other services

Alternative to lemmy being developed (but is also using activitypub so the two federate and its compatible with the lemmy api so frontends like sync, boost, photon, etc. will still work). When version 0.1 releases itll essentially have parity with lemmy features but with a better UI and then the next updates will be adding more things for moderation, federation, etc.
People from our instance, discuss.online, lemmy.world, etc. have been working on it
Here's an article https://wedistribute.org/2024/01/sublinks-a-replacement-for-lemmy/
Probably soon, just been making sure nothing major broke in the 0.19.3 update before we move over
The 0.19.1 version isnt ideal but its still usable if the server is restarted every day so gives us some time and after the situation with 0.19 0.19.1 were being more cautious
There is a distinguish option that adds a shield but its a bit redundant since it marks you with the flairs anyways
Only way to really get around it for now is the multiple accounts
You might need to hard refresh with ctrl f5
-1 New means that one of the comments got deleted since you last checked the post
yeah lemmy.world probably overrided the default limit with something higher. We havent done so yet so will still be on the default
no problem! Yeah haha im participating in gmtk so running and hosting at the same time would be pain
im saying the posts and content are fine, just dont swamp every other type of content with it. Give breathing room for other communities and other people in this community to be able to have things surface. You can still post things hence why you havent gotten any moderation action here past getting your flood of posts removed.
